2007 7th round draft pick Jeff Desjardins has been named the first QMJHL Player of the Week for 2007. In two games, Desjardins tallied 3 goals and picked up 4 assists and added the game winner in the shootout opening night.

"I realize this kid went undrafted in the NHL, but I think they really missed out on a quality player," said GM Greg Dockus. "Yes, he's undersized, but you can't bully him. He's gritty and won't back down from tough play. He's just 18. We really like the kid. We think he can be another quality prospect that we find late in the draft like Brodziak, Dubinsky, MacArthur, Tim and Tyler Kennedy.....we seem to find quite a few diamonds in the later rounds."
