Due to a rash of injuries to 3 of their top 6 defenseman, Minnesota dealt a 7th rounder and Brandon Yip to Vancouver for Brad Ference. Ference jumped right in and scored 2 goals to lead the Wild in a win over the Rangers.
The up-and-down Wild now sit in 9th in West as the season approaches the 1/2 way point. GM Greg Dockus is sitting down with his UFA's and RFA's to see who will be offered deals. The next few weeks will be large for the Wild. If they continue recent form, they should become buyers. If they drop back in the pack, the opposite should hold true.
