Why has the league not retired #27 for Lemieux?

Both Crosby and Lafleur have had their Jersey numbers retired league wide, but there is the glaring omission of Lemieux. I am sort of Confused by this as he was arguably the best of the 3 during his Q career.

Is there something else going on here I am unaware of? I understand its not the same # he wore or was famous for in the NHL, but the same can be said for Lafleur.

Lemieux wore #66 (not #27) while playing in the Q and I agree, his number should be retired throughout the league.

Yes you're right it was pre Q days Lemieux was #27 and then he switched, makes it even weirder seeing as it's a number almost nobody will wear
