If by upset you mean lower seed beating higher seed, LA over Vegas. In the East, I can Columbus beating Washington, but I don't think that would massive shocker.

As far as massive shocker, I could see NJ taking Tampa to a 7 game series and Colorado winning would be insane.

I think Nashville will be the biggest upset in the playoffs . I think the Kings will win the first round and if Nashville is upset in round 1, I think the Kings can take the WCF even over Winnipeg. But I don’t see them being able to handle Boston or TB if either team makes it to the finals. Although the Kings have been known for being a team of major upsets. But then the Kings have been pretty meek for the last few seasons. Ahhhhhgghgh To be a lifelong Kings fan!!

Colorado beating Nashville is the upset I'm hoping for.

Vegas losing to whatever mediocre team that lucked into playing Vegas is the upset I'm predicting.

Well I would say Kings are good not mediocre.. They seem to play the Jets quite well.

lol sorry man. Not offense intended to Devils fans. And yes - I admittedly wasn't aware that Schneider had been parked.

My best wishes to the Devils..........but I still think Tampa takes it.

Good to know.

Just a little FYI about our CURRENT Goaltender :

Keith Kinkaid
16-3-1 (since Feb 13)
GAA 2.28
SV% .931

As opposed to Cory who now has a .907 SV% and 2.93 GAA you can see why we've gone with Keith.

I could've worded that better: the Kings are not a top team. They're a legit playoff team but I don't think anyone has them favourites for the finals. They got lucky with that first round matchup.

Really, all the Pacific teams are fortunate that they no longer have the 1 vs 8 format. The Central is much stronger this year top to bottom.

Agreed. but I think only against Toronto. They'd beat NJ imo.
Maybe, new experience for this version of the new jersey devils but I think they would still be a fairly tough out for the bolts. Jersey got battle toughened down the stretch just to make it in and Tampa limps in licking their wounds playing bad hockey bleeding goals left and right.

If I am a tampa fan I would be real nervous playing just about anyone right now, they aren't coming in sharp at all.

Somethings been off with them for quite some time now.

Hard to choke when this is your second appearance in the last 14 years over a full season. Also we did anything but choke against a better team in the Caps last year.
I thought phrasing it in the context of, 'whenever they even make the playoffs' would be mean.

With the parity, there isn't many series that would really be upsets.

Boston/TBL vs. NJ -- Devils have been playing great hockey so they should be able to put up a fight. I wouldn't bet on it, but I could see NJ pulling off an upset

VGK vs. LA -- Interesting to see how Vegas looks. They've been terrific against the Pacific all year, but they're an unknown going in.

NSH vs. COL -- Nashville should easily be able to handle COL without Johnson and Varlamov. Colorado hasn't been particularly hot either.

WSH vs. CBJ -- Blue Jackets are in the same boat as the Devils here. Terrific run to end the year that they could ride it and play spoiler.
Agreed. Good evaluation.

I'd choose NJ over TBL. NJ vs Boston - is pick 'em, imho. I think such a series would go 7. Tampa may be struggling, but, I think Toronto is one team they could beat. If they have to play the speedy, improved Devils, then I think it's a different story. They might take the Devils to 6 or 7 but I don't see how they would beat them.

VGK vs COL - VGK keeps having it easy. That would be an upset if COL beat them.

WSH vs CBJ - The Caps don't seem to be the same. The pressure is off? Maybe, that helps them. But, Holtby used to be called one of the best goalies in the NHL but now it's being reported that the Caps might move to a new #1 soon? Ovechkin scored 49 goals and has a lot on his plate in that the Caps have been disappointments the past several seasons in the playoffs. To add to all that, they are playing the red-hot CBJ. I guess I won't try to pick a winner here. The BJ seem like the winners here but that series might be close. I'll say, maybe it goes 7 and it takes OT(s?) to determine the winner?
