Even though we'll have to wait for the playoffs to see where our first-round pick from VGK ends up falling, it looks like we'll have one pick somewhere in the second half of the first round + picks #33 and #36 in the second round. Who would you take in that range?

This isn't a complete list, but here are a few possibilities in the #18 to #60 range, with the aggregate ranking from 13 publications in the last column.

Thomas, Bokk, Kravstov, Kaut, Woo, Dellandrea are my favorites. Would be happy with any combination of 3 of those guys.

Khovanov is still intriguing to me. If by divine hockey intervention we get Svechnikov, he's a must.

Doubt McLeod will be there. Same with Thomas and Lundestrom and Miller and Noel.
Seems like you've got a lot of guys who will go 11-20 in these rankings.

Guys I like in late first, early second.
Alexeyev - Great skating D, good size. Very good passer. Injuries have hurt his draft year, or he'd be higher.
Martin Kaut - Righthanded winger with great speed, a good shot and good playmaking. Decent size, too.
Jack McBain - Big center going to Boston College next year. Great speed. Shifts speeds well. Lots of skills, but said to lack consistency and defense. You want a homerun? McBain is a guy. You want safe? Look elsewhere.
Alexander Khovanov - Injury and illness troubles have hurt his stats, but this guy has potential elite ability.
Jay O'Brien - A little small, but super skilled and competitive. Screams steal to me.
Ty Dellandrea - Right-handed center with a good all-around game. More of the safe pick. Good two way guy. Hard working.
Phillipp Kurashev - Swiss/Russian guy producing in the Quebec league. Good speed, hands and is a coach's kid, so he plays defense and works.
Jet Woo - Has a lot of the tools but he's not been a producer at the WHL level. Speedy, puckmoving D. I think I'd wait to see if he falls to round 3, but I like the skill st.

If he is available, they will take Miller with their #27 pick.

McBain would be their next choice.

Berggren is probably my favorite player in the entire draft, so would be happy to get him. Might be there early in the 3rd too if teams are scared of his size but would not take the risk if you want him.

Calen Addison and use the 2nd rounders and other picks to move up. I don't think they will use all 11 of their picks in the first 3 rounds. And Jett Woo based solely on his name

Detroit should draft a potential top D-man with their first pick then go for broke with centers the following picks. Because right now their D in 5 years should look like:

1st this year-Hronek
Cholo-DD/Vili Saarijarvi/Hicketts

Which could be a really solid top 4. But besides from Larkin it doesn't look like they have much in the way of young center depth (and again, I see Ras peaking as a top line winger, giving him more range to go to dirty areas and post up near the net), and need to find someone who can at least be 1A/1B with Larkin.

I would not worry too much about what you currently have.

This team will be picking bottom six at the worst next year and year after

We will add more picks to the 2019 draft via nyquist and whomever else we trade.

Start now building the blue line and down the middle and continue that next year and year after.

Do not start penciling in any lineup yet outside Larkin, mantha and Bert.

Can you give us a write-up on Berggren? If he's your favorite player in the draft he must have some pretty special traits. I've seen him enough to be intrigued but not nearly enough to have formed a solid opinion so any insight is appreciated.

Not having seen many of these players, & if I did, it may have been only 1x. I doubt he'll be there but for our 1st I'd take Jacob Olofsson. The 2nd round picks are D, Mattias Samuelsson & Jared McIsaac.

The scouts and coaches spend quite a bit of time in Ann Arbor.....I think they will choose a known quantity over an unknown all the time.

I feel great about the Knights playing the Kings in the first round; I have to think the Kings bounce them in 5 or 6, which only helps us out with a better pick.

We honestly need any actual talent we can get. We need talented defensemen, centers, and wingers, so I'm super open to anyone that doesn't have the words "size, grit, physical, character" as their defining descriptor.

I think we need a second line center in the worst way, because I don't think Rasmussen develops into that for us, so if McLeod is there with wherever Vegas' pick lands, I think you have to take him.

I like those four plus Alexeyev (who I really like), Miller and Kaut. O'Brien also sounds really interesting but I haven't watched him play. My opinion on these picks all depends on who we take with our first pick.
