Brian Burke stated today that he believes there will be a season.

Well I guess its possible the owners give up on a cap or cost certainty, but I doubt it. Too many fans here would be too traumatized seeing them blink like that

I have always been optimistic about a half season this year, and even though the sides are an ocean apart in wants, both dont want to lose a full season, so a deal WILL get done.

I voted prematurely ... I voted half - season starting after January 1st ... but after I heard Burke's interview on cknw this morning ... I believe their is no way in hell that their is a season this year

Yeah, the deal sure doesnt look as good as when you look at it closer. Roll back - dont mean squat. Arbitration for owners - at best, keeps a player on your team for an extra year at e reasonable price. All show, no guts.

BUT... they ARE negotiating. I'm listening to the radio Burke interview now as I type and I still think it will happen, because both sides WANT a season.

Thursday night the split between those who thought there would be a half season was about 70% to 30%.

Now, Friday afternoon, its about 55% to 45%

So is the proposal becoming less inticing as you look at it closer?
