Lhjmq win it!!! Perfect game against a supposed stacked team…. Komarov, Nause , Gaucher , Rochette we’re great! This was the last game from Roy, next will be in NHL! The Remparts was the underdogs, like the LHJMQ… I hope the LHJMQ will be much consider by the fans and all the scouts on HF!

The Q always wins the Memorial Cup but produces the least amount of NHL players. Even in the WJC, the team that Canada brought had 4 QMJHL players, compared to 7 OHL players (adding in Shane Wright) and 11 WHL players It's a bit of an interesting conundrum. Having the least amount of teams is likely helpful in this regard (18 in the Q, 20 in the OHL and 22 in the WHL).

That was smart of Q to lose on purpose to force the other teams to have to play an extra game. Worked out for them in the dumb format that is the Memorial Cup.

Q is the best league in the CHL for a while now.

The mini Don Cherrys here will say otherwise bit facts are facts,
It seems to be that way at the top, but you still see every year kids get cut from their OHL teams and then sign in the QMJHL as a CHL Free Agent. The inverness of this basically never happens.

If, for instance, the OHL just has much more parity across the League, then it can be the case that the OHL is a stronger league while a team from the Q is much more likely to win the Memorial Cup.

This year for instance, the top seed in the OHL Playoffs got swept in the first round. That's pretty unusual. The Petes finished like 4th in their conference an then won the OHL Playoffs. That's more consistent with a league that has a lot of parity.

Ontario is laughing circles around Quebec in terms of NHL players produced, on an actual and per capita basis.
