That's exactly my point. The City of Denver (or State of Colorado, whatever your preference is) had an NHL team in the form of the Rockies. They left town and became the Devils. The people of that market eventually got another team in the form of the Avalanche, so “Bring Back Rocky Hockey†essentially was realized.
Although some people may disagree, if Winnipeg got a team that was called something other than the Jets (like most repeat NHL markets or Baltimore and Houston in the NFL), they wouldn’t care as much. Fans essentially got what they wanted, another pro team.
