If I were Lou, I'd sign Tavares and try to re-sign Bozak as well. Rely on yongsters to fill up the lineup elsewhere, Johnsson, Lily and Leivo will be cheap options to round out the lines. Gotta go for a cup while Matthews and Marner are on ELCs and secure all contracts before the Seattle expansion because the cap will jump up again.

Sign a physical bottom pair D such as Clayton Stoner 2@2. Give a 7th D that isn't Roman Polak 1@1.
Connor Brown to DAL for Mattias Janmark, give him 3@3 instantly (so were not giving up 2nds for 4th line center rentals yearly...conversely, I would resign Pleks for 2@3 if he was interested).
Trade Martin back to Lon Guy Land for a 2018 4th, retain 0.5.
Jake and a 2019 4th to CBJ for 2020 1st, Josh Anderson, conditional pick.
Matthews [email protected], yes he's worth more but these injuries help us, unpleasant as it is.
Mitch 8@7, has passed Willy.

I think this time next year that Grundstrom will be ready and Liljegren will be near ready, give them a few games.
The following summer trade Marleau back to SJ (I think this is something all sides have agreed upon before he signed) after we pay out his first bonus and Hainsey is gone. That's 9.5 to toss a retirement contract at Doughty in July.
