Any current roster players that you could see being a coach someday? And we'll include the minor leagues in a nod to Jeremy Colliton.

I started the thread, and I agree with this.

Having said that, there does seem to be a bit of a profile for coaches. I suggested Cizikas and Hickey. A star can be a coach, but most of them tend to have been average/fringe players (probably because they need to rely on qualities other than skill or physical gifts to make it). They should have leadership qualities, of course. Hockey intelligence and good communication skills are important (and I've seen things that indicate Cizikas and Hickey fit this).

But yeah, mostly August.

I think the rationale with Hickey is that he’s not big nor fast, yet he’s still able to be effective enough to be a servicable NHLer, so he must have a solid understanding of the game.

I also believe he’s wore the “C” in juniors and junior tournaments so he’s got some leadership qualities and is likable.
