Boston is a bit banged up and they’d rely on a lot of young players also. NJ will have confidence they can play with Boston. They won’t be favored but they won’t be intimidated.

we really can hang with either matchup. we got screwed vs the b's and maybe overachieved vs the bolts.

either way we hung with both.

if ive learned one thing this season its that you dont sleep on the devils.

How quickly people forget when we wish for matchups, we had the 'perfect' matchup in 2012 and nearly botched it. We did have the so-called perfect matchup in 2002 and botched that.

Ain't that the truth. A bounce or two away from being one and done in what would have been a very disappointing end.

Florida was motivated because NOBODY gave them a chance.

This team will be motivated because NOBODY will give them a chance. This team has the talent and speed to cause nightmare matchups for the opposition. If Keith keeps up his play, the upset is absolutely possible.

Also, word of advice. Avoid the main board. Don't go there. You're not going to like what you see from opposing fans. The Devils are relevant again and that drives people nuts. I missed this.

the quest is to win the stanley cup and to even get there you have to win 3 series ... it doesn't matter

The problem is if you take a long term view it makes it worse. If you are looking at it at that perspective then it would probably be better to not make your path their be the #1 team in the conference and then the 2/3 team in the conference.

You stay in the Metro the path is #4 team in the conference and then either #5 or #6. Theri path to the Cup has to go through 2 of the top 3 teams in the conference where the Metro side will only have to go through 1 of those teams guaranteed.

Honestly I think the boys would relish the idea of getting revenge for Mojo. No one likes to see that happen to a teammate.

This will certainly be a factor should they play them. The team has made it well known that they’re a tight group so I have no doubt this will be a big motivator for them. But if they get Tampa that’s fine too. I’m just happy to be in the dance and I know the Devils will put up a good effort against any team they face. Honestly doesn’t matter to me. Just bring it on.

I definitely think we can take Tampa if it goes that way.

You don’t win the cup by ducking teams, that’s all I know. Eventually you have to beat someone you don’t want to play.

He played 10:16 overall in the third period. Essentially every other shift.

And in a meaningless game. I know I'd be peeved off and dissapointed if we pulled that **** with Hall trying to get him 40, though at least we'd have a sliver of something on the line in terms of seeding.

That's more on us than the matchups. Florida, we won. Philly, we won. By the time we hit NY, we were on a serious roll.

Be good to remember that one of our three wins against Tampa was the Lack 50 shot game. We were outplayed and were quite lucky.

If that goes the way it should have, people wouldn’t have such a preference. iMO.

It's not that I don't think there's a chance we can beat Boston, I just like our chances against Tampa better. I think we matchup better against them. They're both ridiculously strong teams. But we can get some solid goaltending and let Hall run wild in either series, then who knows. Either way I'm ecstatic that we're even having this conversation.

But seeing as it's not set in stone yet, I'd rather Tampa :)

If the panthers show up tomorrow and beat Boston in any way....It's Tampa.

Otherwise, it's Boston.

Not to mention if we win just one of the games we outshoot Boston, even the shootout game.

they used to call hall a locker room cancer.

they said he was the reason the oil struggled.

something tells me he was the least of their problems. team guy, team mentality, mature, leader.......

1 for 1 ;)
