Schremp at 15? Also I doubt the Oilers would take a Dman with their first, they have tons of good prospects like Lynch, Woywitka, and Greene back there...Aside from that, great job!

Radulov at 17? Schremp at 15? Montoya at 21? All of those are too low, and then Chipchura is going way too high, I'd say he'd be picked in the bottom half of Round 1.

the pens are set at goaltender with fluery, caron, chiodo and geopfert

defense is fine with orpik, whitney, welch, lupashuck, nemec and bissonnate

they need a star forward with all the skills (they have decent forwards but none that are potential superstars) -- passing, shooting, scoring, hard work ethic, great ice vision, etc

Malkin is the only choice for the pens here and look for the them to grab another forward with the first pick in the second round

Problem with your second pick.. we have like 2872837 forwards with good potential.. washington will only take 1 forward in the first round and his name is Ovechkin. The Caps will go D-D with the last 2 picks or trade them up for a top defender. It's been mentioned on the local caps channel McPhee would like to trade up and select both Ovechkin and Barker.

THis a pretty junky draft acctually. Your picks, while some are decent, the majority are ignoring teams needs and such.

I have no idea what the "and such" refers to, but the vast majority of NHL teams take the Best Player Available rather than analyzing their "needs". With a couple of exceptions, most of these are at least three or four years away from making any significant contribution at the NHL level. In 3-to-5 years, a team's needs may, and often do, change radically.

I am not completely agree with your mock draft, but it's a great work with a detailed attention of the team needs... Here's my some interrogations:

1) Carolina are strong down the middle, and with Staal last year, i would very surprised if the Canes take an other centerman... but nothing is impossible... IMO, Wolski is the perfect man for them...

2) Chipchura isn't a center?

3) Why is Wes o'Neill, a big guy, at the #22 rank? Do you not believe that the Habs would be more interested in O'Neill than in Fransson? And the Oilers with Smid?

4) You boycotted Lisin???

5) Why Dubnyk and not Cory Schneider?

6) Have you forget Lukas Kaspar?

7) And, IMO, Bruce Graham should be there...

8) And the Flyers at the Stanley Cup??? Ah, ah... :lol

However, that remains a realistic scenario, but a little bit eccentric, sometimes... but the future will say it to us...

Chippy is way to high.

The Thrashers have some nice possibilities right here (in this mock):

1.) draft Picard
2.) draft Radulov
3.) draft O'Neill
4.) draft Schremp

5.)*trade the pick and a roster player to obtain a proven young D-man.*

I'm not really sure, which of these guys is the BPA, but I would rank (off and on the ice) them in that order.

If Radulov and Schremp are on the board, no way any team would take Chipchura first. He's somebody who is more apt to be a mid to late first rounder (though I hope the Isles pick him up at #16.)

Also, would the Isles take Valabik over O'Neill? Almost definately not. In fact, I would be a little surprised to see Minny take Green over Wes.

Where do you get the information that the Rangers LOVE Thelen and Korpikoski? I think that that is WAY off, if you can get links, I'll believe you. I'll put up a mock draft of my own soon.

Vanouver has never drafted a defenceman from MODO before. Henrik and Daniel Sedin was drafted out of MODO but they play forwards, Markus Näslund used to play for MODO as well.

I'll eat my hat if the Rangers take Thelen. I've heard they really like Ladd and Schremp, also, they have guys like Tyutin, Pock, Baranka, Nycholat, etc. on the future blueline, I don't think they're gonna pick a defenseman.
