First time for Alex Smith on the market. Kind of don't get why both sides seemingly were so willing to move on.

Smith had a good career.. but due to a virtually catastrophic injury (combined with age), he's lost too much leg mobility. He might get an offer as a backup somewhere.. but his career looked finished to me (late last season). We'll see..

He's not a starter and I don't think he loved WFT's embrace in real time. They kind of just left him for dead.

If I was the Jags I would think about signing him to backup and tutor the new kid.

It was a nice story but he didn't look like he had much left, maybe he can keep going as a backup but that is about all I can see
