Shawn Weller of Clarkson and Jon Quick of UMass-Amherst have both sign today. Weller with the Sens, and Quick with the Kings. Any opinions on how they will do in the pros. I also think Quick should have stayed one more year.

Quick made the right move leaving simply based on the fact that Bernier of the Kings most likely won't be there till after next season. At least he'll get some good time without having to battle him.

Weller seems to have developed his scoring touch quite nicely at Clarkson, but I doubt he will be a top 6 player at the NHL level. Hopefully he can crack the bottom 6 at some point.

I think Weller will be a very solid, very dependable 3rd liner at the NHL level. I don't think many people thought any higher of him at draft time or after, though.
