I'd argue that Iafallo was better in game 3 than Carter has been in any game this series, and that's a MAJOR problem

This . Plus Toffoli and Pearson not being a factor is why we are down 0-3. Toffoli is getting chances like the one he had last night but can't finish . If he scores on that play by elevating the damn puck a little bit then we might have won last night

The problem became damn near everything Lombardi did post 2014 was a disaster

Actually, the hockey gods gift wrapped that 2nd goal to Toffoli.....but he blew it.

Yeah, when i saw it again today , I was like " he shot it to the only spot Fleury could make a save, into his pads" .He shoots it at any other part of the wide open net, it's in.

Also, there never was that killer instinct on the 5 pp to make the lead wider. Very passive, still looking for that perfect play.

All 3 games have been close and could've gone either way. I watch SJ/ANA and think , it's back to back 5-1 losses to the Sharks, getting badly outplayed once again by them.

We gave up way too much for a rental. He was never going to resign. McKeown and a first was total overpayment.

That was the price of rentals back then. GM's were crazy. Didn't Hanzal cost a first? Or was that Vermette? Either way, 3rd line centers getting a 1st round pick and prospect.

Kings could've really expedited their re-tool if they had traded Williams, Regehr, and Stoll away at the 2015 deadline and not made the Sekera trade.

He was so pitiful on the pp. Everytime he tried to enter the zone either he was poke checked or caused a turnover.

That last power play I think he was responsible for losing it at least 3 times, once passing it straight to Vegas, once getting it poked off his stick, and the third just passing it to no one.

Versteeg. Cost them Zykov didn't it? The guy who just finished the AHL season by leading it in goals. And then the weird Ben Bishop trade.

Zykov has done exactly what since the trade, 4 goals in 12 nhl games. Even when he played with the Reign, he had 14 points in 43 games.Not exactly world class stuff, even with his 33 goalin the Ahl.

The Bishop trade happened 2 months too late.

He was hurt when the Kings traded him. Not saying he's the Kings answer to their scoring problems but he's an asset they don't have. Would've been better to have him than 20 games of Versteeg, a guy Sutter didn't even want to play.

If Sutter wouldn't play Weal, what makes you think he'd have played Zykov? He'd scare the scoring right out of him .

Sutter's not the coach anymore. Even if the Kings never play him, it's still an asset they could've used in a better way than they did. A 7th round pick would be more valuable than what they got.

Agree. Like I said, something isn't right. Even his shots seem to be coming off his stick either late or missing the target. Last night he had one shot that actually looked like his usual self, and that's the only one I've see all series.

Poor Gravel got plenty of criticism after game 2. Right now it could be argued that game 2 was the Kings most successful so far in this miserable series, and was so without Doughty and Muzzin.

Teams have shown you don't need an all star defense corps. Serious offensive game plan a must. Kings seemingly have none!

Game 2 was dump the puck out any time you can and hope Vegas makes a mistake. They had a chance to win, but not really. They weren't in the game other than for a decent run of play in the 3rd period. OT was almost pointless. I think Kopitar had one shot, and that was it.

2 years later, and he has still barely played for a team that has missed the playoffs each year. He probably still wouldn't have helped the Kings, while the core gets older. Kempe and Iafallo have done more.

We've said it before about Kopitar and been fooled, but if Toffoli isn't suffering from some sort of injury, or feeling his knee injury from last year, or something, then he's simply wilting in the 2nd half of the season.

Zykov is 6-1, 225 lbs. Sutter would have given him another look.

They are either bad trades or bad picks and, until proven otherwise, they are simply bad draft picks at the moment and are more an indictment of the Kings lack of drafting prowess during the period of trading 1st round picks because they consistently missed with their 2nd rounders.

There are no guarantees with 2nd rounders, of course, but they had the Midas Touch and then they had the Turd Touch for awhile. Hopefully Clague and JAD reverse that trend.

Things like that only made sense in hindsight. Team was just coming off 3 straight CF berths and 2 cups, you really think they would trade those guys? It's not like the team was used to being comfortably in the postseason at the trade deadline

When your GM standards are so high[see character] you will miss a lot of quality picks, which they did. I could totally see them ranking guys with higher character with less skill over better skilled guys who didn't pass Lombardi's interview. When you're not drafting in the first round year after year, you better hit on those 2nd and 3rd rounders.

Watching the Sharks play the Ducks, they'd have turned a series vs the Kings into a bloodbath.
