This is the 10th time the Oilers and Kings have met in the playoffs. Almost all of their meetings have taken place in the 1st round too. They've met twice in the 2nd round.
The Oilers are 7-2 in series wins(32-17)

Kings won their first meeting in 82 3-2(Miracle on Manchester in game 3)
Kings won their fourth meeting in 89 4-3(First time Gretzky played his former team in the playoffs and a 3-1 series comeback by the Kings)
Oilers have won all the other times.

I don’t see much difference from years past. Kings will keep it close at even strength but oilers PP will be the difference.

Oilers in 6
Special teams were pretty even last year iirc. The Oilers gifting the Kings too many free powerplays nearly cost them the series. Oilers outscored them at evens.

I hate the Kings and their boring-as-f*** brand of hockey so I hope it is a 4 - 0 Edmonton sweep.

...but I also hate the Oilers and their McJesus, had a million high picks but can't do shit when it counts team...

Dang, I guess I hope it goes 7 games and the winning team catches mono.

(I know that sounds mean spirited but....carry on)

EDM has way more depth this year then year's past. The Kings are worse than last year. It'll come down to goaltending like all teams but especially for EDM. Skinner was brutal last year with a save percentage of .883. No team can win with goaltending that bad. The team just needs him to be at least average this year and that should be enough for a deep run.

These two teams hate each other and you can’t even talk to an oiler fan about a game without them asking for a ban. Not even gonna watch this. Oilers in 5

Kings in 7 and Dubois with the series winner and he reminds us all why Blake traded for him. :)

That would be the most bittersweet result possible :P Sure, every Kings fan wants to eliminate Edmonton, but we also don't want to endure Rob Blake for years to come.

How many times per period do we think the Kings will crosscheck McDavid on the hip?

This could be the moment where Oilers wish they still had the great Jack Campbell as insurance. Pickard is having a fluke year with misleading stats. I wouldnt even want Pickard on the bench when your team has to at least make it to the cup final or this year is a failure.

You really want to start this? How many times will Draisitl whack Kempe in the hands? Oilers are notorious for injuring the kings so let’s not play that game.

Honestly going in to this one I’m not too stressed. No expectation for an LA win.

Kings still have no answer for their power play.
Oilers PP has been slightly worse this season and almost certainly won't be running at like a 50% clip like they were last playoffs.
