maybe walker started reading the boards, and found that his status as the most beloved Pred has taken a nosedive given all the jackass comments and biting of the hand that fed him and is trying to save face. :shakehead

This group killed hockey 12 years ago when they hired Goodenow...

Maybe the players wouldn't have needed a hard nose negotiator if they weren't cheated, lied too and taken advantage of by a bunch of crooked owners for so many years.

  8. Alright.
You start a list of the reason why you say that Goodenow killed hockey.
I'll get my neice to make a list showing how Bettman killed hockey.

Then we will conduct a poll, and see who people agree with.

Fact is, every singled reason you give for Goodenow is a reason I can give for Bettman.
Because Bettman is the Commissioner of the sport. He is the NHL's protector.
    ANd he's failed. Miserably.

just curious - you seem pretty upset over all of this (as if bettman kicked your dog or something). if you were able to meet the commish face-to-face, would you tell him all of this, or would you keep quiet and shake his hand?

The list for Bettman would be much longer, but Goodenow's list would have the ace in the hole. It's the players' greed and absolute disregard for the health of the league that's killed the game, not the instigator rule or the glowing puck or the fact that there's teams in Anaheim and Miami.

Now that I think about it, I'd probably put Jacques Lemaire second on the list of league villians after Goodenow and before Bettman. Helluva coach, but that trap has really killed the excitement of the game.
