Looks like Washington is going to have some trouble signing Vrana in the offseason. Admittedly I haven't seen him play much but his production looks like a solid 2nd liner. What would it take to acquire him at the draft?

Is Ottawa's 2021 2nd round pick (35th overall) + Tampa Bay 2022 2nd round pick enough?

I can see the Capitals wanting a 1st in return or something strategic for a cup run. Vrana fits their system and puts up points, why on earth would they trade him?

I don't think they can afford him. If he is looking for $5m+ long term they will need to move someone out to accommodate that. Ottawa is picking top 5 so their 2nd rounder is essentially a late 1st round pick. Could be another Devon Toews situation.
