Hockey nicknames are as boring as hockey personalities. Though "The Dominator" and "The Legion of Doom" were pretty good.

Lundqvist's nickname has meaning. But it's rare, I agree.

You just don't see the artistic majesty in adding -er and -y to a last name

Like every Vladislav/Vladimir, he was called Vlad and Vladdy on the Lightning board as well as Names.

He was also called the Russian Bieber which is perfect for him.

    I can't unsee this.

A posted pic of him shooting heroin or something I could forgive. That's something he can work through and come out the other side a stronger human being.

    But this.. this is dark.

You're literally the only person on earth that thinks that's funny and/or clever.

I think they're trying to say that being a "Belieber" is worthy of the ninth circle of Hell.

Pretty much this. Sorry if it offends, but some punches just can't be pulled.

Miller is not my favorite player. It has nothing to do with how much I like Miller. You just sound like you're no older than 7 by not only using that nickname but actually thinking it's clever.

Is he playing well? His production doesn’t seem good but that might be for other reasons.

Namestnikov is definitely a tier below Miller as a player. However, I think the Rangers knew that when they included him and it was something else about Miller that offset the difference

As a wing - maybe, as a center - nope.

    Mmmmmmmm...not really.

They're both on the same tier, but play a bit differently. Names is a much better offensive talent and better cat transitioning the puck into the OZ. Miller is a lot better on the forecheck and being a physical presence to move the puck and retrieving it.

    Two different games, really.

They are most certainly on the same tier.

I think Miller is a better offensive player, pretty unequivocally. Namestnikov plays a better all-around game though. Depends on what you value more.
