Can I get Founders or Black note (from Bell's) in there?

Founders you'll find all over. And Bell's. But you specifically named a truly hard to find Bell's. Black Note is one of the holy grail beers people look for so you won't find it on at a bar by chance unless you feel like buying a lottery ticket. They don't announce a release schedule for it, so it just kind of shows up at places and then beer watchers post about it on the internet. No sightings reported on Beer Advocate this year that I know of, but I haven't followed as closely as the past.

Here's the Bell's regular beer schedule for those visiting Michigan and want the BEST BEER IN THE WORLD. Yeah, I went there. World title claimed.

Right now is Hopslam season and I couldn't be happier. Everybody needs to try it if you enjoy, well, hops.

Hopslam is great if you can find it. If you're from out of town, don't bother looking for it in stores. It's gone from the shelves within 2 hours of them stocking it.

DRIPA from Kuhnhenn (best Motown area brewer IMO) would be closest comparable choice. A must have for hop-heads.

Coming to detroit for my first nhl game in May! Been to Detroit once but looking forward to a Wings game vs the Jets. Super pumped. Trying to get to the Rangers game on the Saturday that weekend but not sure it'll work! Super pumped! Going to be a bit of a trek but I always knew I wanted my first game to be a Winga fan at the Joe.

My wife and I will be visiting her family in the next few weeks and are in search of 4 good seats for the Wings / Rangers game. What's the best way to get them? TicketExchange? StubHub?

If anyone on this board has seats, I'll gladly trade some of my Detroit tickets at MSG for this season or next.

PM me.

Stubhub. Monitor it and pick a price look for best value. Not a bad seat unless you are in upper bowl (200 sections) and row#'s are in the mid to high 20's. Tend to be in the corners tucked behind everybody.

It should be business as usual that day. Thrillist Detroit and Detroit Free Press are good references for events/restaurants, etc. The Henry Ford Museum is pretty impressive and you'll need a few hours for it.

I got a few questions, I will be going during Easter weekend and coming in from Sault Ste Marie. I will be at the Pits game on the Saturday 26th.

1. I am staying at the Best Western on the river, how would you go to the game - is it pretty easy to find shuttle service to a from games.

2. Is it worth going to Hockeytown Authentics? I will be driving in and dont mind stopping. I want to get something autographed by Fedorov and/or Hasek. I dont know if its far out of the way or there is something better near by.

3. Should I get a reservation to Hockeytown Cafe before the game. It seems like the coolest place to go pre game, if it isnt what else is there that would be a good pre game experience?

4. Is there any place you recommend in Windsor for Friday and/or Saturday night for a few 27 year old men?

5. Is there a good post game lounge or should we just go back to Windsor?

Thanks

I'll be in town on 12/11 for the game against the Flyers. Debating pulling a doubleheader and going to the Lions game before too. What's the parking situation like on game days? Curious if I'll be able to park my car all day in a garage for one rate or have to pay double for each event. I'm assuming the garages and lots charge higher event rates.

I'll be visiting later this month for the Preds vs Wings game and I was wondering what restaurants do you recommend before the game?

We want to try local beer and have a decent meal.

Park at Greektown casino. You will pay something like $25 up front. It ends up being free if you get a Greektown casino card and gamble $25 worth. There is a "people mover" stop right at the casino. Take that for a $1 and it there is a stop right at the Joe.

Gonna be going to my first game in a couple weekend (10/29 vs Boston).

Plan on coming down early on the Saturday (it's a 4 hour drive so likely get there around noon) and staying the night in Detroit.

What's a decent area to stay in? And any recommendations for things to do before the game (food, places to see) or the next day (don't have to leave too early).

Thanks!

Just secured 2 tickets to the last game of the season!
cWe are coming all the way from Calgary for it.
Is there any hints or even posted events that are gong to take place.
If its anything like they did in Edm last year I will be beside my self in happiness.

So I'm staying at Roberts Riverwalk Hotel...

Would it be reasonable to just walk to the game along the river? Seems like JLA is right there?

I'd say it's about a 2 mile walk from the Joe.

Personally I'd suggest staying at a hotel closer (Greektown Casino for example) where there's the People Mover, and numerous bar shuttle buses that'll drop you off right at the Joe.

If that hotel has a shuttle bus for games - then you'll be fine - otherwise I'd consider staying elsewhere unless you get a cab ride.

Not so much: the riverwalk path is broken up between where you are staying and The Joe. You'd spend a good hour or so walking and it gets confusing if you don't know the area. The quickest walking route would be to take Jefferson Ave. to the Renaissance Center people mover stop. But, as mentioned, a cab/ Ãœber would be your best bet.

Hit up Bucharest Grill or Atwater Brewery while you're there. Both are pretty much near the same block as your hotel.

That will be the last game in Joe Louis arena. Will be a historic night.

Is Uber prevalent in the Detroit area? I'll be staying with family in Livonia and pulling a Lions/Wings double header on 12/11. Curious how easy it would be to catch an Uber from Livonia to Ford Field or Nemo's that morning.
