#60 on our list. Not bad for #100!

Victor Mete has the potential to be a top four defender in the NHL. He will have several challenges to overcome, not the least of which is his height, and developing the strength to be able to effectively defend against the cycle and clear the crease. If he can develop those areas, he has the type of puck moving ability that teams are looking for. Mete’s style is comparable to Sami Vatanen of the Anaheim Ducks, but this is a stylistic comparison only, and not one based on talent or ability.

I am not really excited by a 5'10 defenseman, but can't be that bad of a pick since he was ranked #108 by Hockeyprospect.com, #84 by ISS Hockey, #54 by Future Considerations, #55 by McKeen's Hockey and #75 by TSN/McKenzie.

Edit: Apparently he is one of the fastest skater in this year draft; I am starting to like this pick a lot.

"After being drafted 8th overall in the 2014 OHL Draft by the Owen Sound Attack, Victor Mete refused to report and was eventually traded to the London Knights for a package of draft picks."

Uhhh, I really don't like that...

Common occurrence in junior hockey.

MacKinnon was drafted by Baie-Comeau 1st overall and didn't want to play there. Ended up going to Halifax.

Awesome pick at that range. And enough stupidities with the size thing...get rid of the other smurfs that aren't good. Those 2 this year will be great.

Some reports show him at only 5'9". Seems kind of small for defense, but one never knows. One of the London Knights.

Yeah he's definitely small, but if he's good enough it won't matter. He's multiple years away and we don't have any small players on defense currently

Lack of size could keep him from being a top pair guy, but if he has smarts to go with the speed/skill he should be okay. If you pair him with a big guy, even better. He'll learn a pro game in London, that's for sure.

When I read about smallish D I think of how good 5'9 Brian Rafalski was. Brian Campbell is another smallish D. Tyson Barrie is small as well.

Puck movers who can skate, get involved offensively and can skate to get back on D are in demand.

4th round pick, so who knows how he develops. Habs seem to be going all out speed in this draft that's for sure.

I think it's funny that Bitten grew up in a home that cheered for the Habs and then their next pick Mete grew up in a Toronto-area home that cheered for the Leafs.

I gotta say it's a sign of the times when we are all going through the prospects twitter pages and finding some gems.

Excellent skater, incredible vision, good hands. Very good pick here. We can take our time with him and Staum which I like. Sergachev helps us with that.
