Imagine if he had a team who could produce this year. Kucherov and Drouin have helped, imagine if Stammer was playing too! :amazed:

Still a few games left, could get to the 60-65 mark

He's at 57 now, in something like 63/64(?) games. He has a legit shot at 70.

Thought he was making up ground but Karlsson and Burns both posted 3 point nights... seriously what beasts. There's definitely a new "top-3" in the NHL in terms of defenseman.

When was the last time 3 defenseman posted 70+ point seasons?

Well - in this trash season, Hedman is at least showing some offense.

Top 5 seasons (points-wise) by TBL Defenseman:

1. Roman Hamrlik: 16g + 49a = 65pts (1995-96)

2. Dan Boyle: 20g + 43a = 63pts (2006-07)

3. Victor Hedman: 13g + 42a = 55pts (2013-14)

4. Dan Boyle: 15g + 38a = 53pts (2005-06)

5. Dan Boyle: 13g + 40a = 53pts (2002-03)

This season, Hedman has 15g, 45a, and 60 points. That puts him 3rd all-time and 5 back of Harmlik's record. He has an outside chance of catching Dan Boyle for most goals in a season, but I wouldn't count on that.

There is also a good chance he becomes Tampa's first Norris finalist.

There is no one in the NHL who can challenge him from being #3 behind Karlsson and Burns, this season.

I would say it is 50:50 behind Weber getting the nod. Not because he deserves it, but because he's Weber and now plays in Montreal.

Hedman is an amazing player. I feel at times though he's had some real bone headed mistakes this year. Maybe it's because he makes so few of them that they seem to stand out when they do happen.

Sure, there seem to be politics in several NHL awards, perhaps regarding Norris more than any other award. Look at Doughty last season for instance.

Hedman is clearly an overall superior player to Weber though.

I mean - I'm not contesting that and I don't think many outside of maybe Montreal and Nashville would.

But da voters.

Hedman is sort of the chic pic though. Writers who mention Hedman prove they have street cred.

I think it'll be the three big scorers nominated this year. Hard to overlook that kind of production from all three.

Highest scoring Dman in Lightning History.

Also - five points away from 300. Has a chance of hitting that this season.
