I'm fine with this. Don't see why Vanek didn't get 5-7 years though. Does Holland not know what Vanek has done in the past?

This signing does nothing but block Mantha/AA from NHL progression.

Sounds like a Holland move.

Another stupid ass deal. Enjoy your time in GR kids, because we obviously don't need or trust you up here!

This is a ****ing joke right?

If we didn't sign Helm & Miller I would be fine with this. But its just more of the same.

This signing happened because Holland has a deal close to being made for Fowler or another defensmen involving Tatar or Nyquist. I'll bet money on it.

Are you hearing this somewhere or is this just speculation?

Perfect, AA clearly needed more development time. Or more press box time.

On the plus side, Vanek is clearly the difference maker. Stanley Cup, here we come!

With today being such a trainwreck for the Wings, I can live with this deal. A one-year deal for Vanek isn't the end of the world. Nowhere near as brutal as the Helm contract. :D

Favorite signing today. It's really too bad we signed Helm. Very unnecessary.

A trade is coming. And I'd bet it's something no one expects.

Why couldn't they take a gamble on somebody like Pirri, who might actually have some upside still? Why does it have to be trash well past their prime?

Wow one year, me gusta.

I saw Vanek quoted the other day he was ready to prove himself again as a 30 goal scorer. Well, show us Thomas.

I'm okay with this. Would've preferred Helm to walk and just give Athanasiou more minutes. For price and term and the fact he's still good for 40 points, this is a better move than Richards last year.
