Ottawa has only had playoffs end in defeat, and often times convincingly so.

Two standout performances in defeat, though were Alfredsson in '07, and Karlsson in '17. We're all aware of Karlsson's play last year, so no need to elaborate; only that he had Conn Smythe chatter surrounding a three round performance.

Alfredsson had almost everything he touched turn to gold in his 2007 playoff run. Was a point a game in all four series'. Topped all players league wide in goals and points. Scored the OT ECF winner. Then put up 4 goals in the final 3 SCF games. Here's a goal in game 4 of the SCF, with 0.3 seconds left in the first, to take a 1-0 lead - note Alfredsson beaver tapping his stick throughout the shift because he wanted the puck so bad.

And then in what became the SCF elimination game, Ottawa was down by two and took a penalty late in the second. On the ensuing PK, Alfredsson stole the puck from Getzlaf, fought him off all the way back to the Anaheim zone, and buried one of his two goals that game to bring the Senators to within one.
