There seems to be a few Point Guards available at the #20 pick and since Masai Ujiri wanted Tyler Ennis in last year's Draft perhaps he might pick.

Jerian Grant
Jerian Grant could help just about any team from day 1, he’s a smart, well rounded player with highlight-reel hops (ask Tadrick Jackson), and NBA level skills at the point ... His development in college leads me to believe he still has some room for growth, and his athletic ability and size is top notch ... Today you’d like your guards to be a little better shooting from distance, but with some reps paired with getting used to his role in the NBA game, that could be something Grant could develop ... Despite his age Grant is most definitely a first round talent, and could be a real sleeper if teams underestimate what he can do, in favor of focusing on the year he was born ...

Delon Wright
If you are looking for the secret of the Utah Utes first strong season in recent years look no further than this outstanding point guard ... After a summer in which he impressed many scouts at the LeBron James Skills Academy, Wright took his game to another level, taking his team to the Sweet 16 and establishing himself as one of the most entertaining and efficient guards in college basketball ... If he can get stronger, showing a little more hunger, consistency in his shot and find the right situation, Wright has the potential to become a really solid NBA guard and one of the steals of the draft ...

I never understood why we passed on the best player in the Nation at the time.. Aldridge, I remember being so pissed off we didn't take him, I understood the fact that they were afraid to draft US players because they had problems keeping them but you don't pass up on the best player in the nation for a project....

That was such a horrid year tho, out of the top 5 selections only 1 impact player was selected and 3 were complete busts, Bargs was a bust but at least he carved a career out for himself.

I think we can excuse the 2006 draft decision. In hindsight, it was terrible, but Bargnani was considered to be the best offensive prospect at the time. High risk, high reward type player that didn't pan out. As you said, this draft was pretty terrible with no consensus best player.

But knowing the Raptors management at the time in 07 we probably would have taken either Oden, or Jianlian.

This is not very fair. Oden was considered to be the consensus number 1 pick (or at least 90% of analysts thought so). He was the best prospect by a mile. The only notable analyst that took Durant over Oden was Chad Ford I think.

What is NOT excusable is Ross over Drummond. Everyone and their mother knew Drummond was the best player available and Casey convinced BC to draft Ross instead. Drummond would have allowed us to make the JV++ for Harden trade too.

Every medical specialist worth his/her salt in the continent was raising red flags over Oden's long term health. I was 150% on Durant over Oden. As someone simply aware of his issues, I could see that, I don't see why NBA teams actually examining him couldn't. He should have dropped to 3rd at best.

Their medical staff should have stepped in and said no way. But given how Portland ****ed the dog on his treatment and rehab program, I can see why it wouldn't even have occurred to them that it would be an issue.

For whatever it might be worth, Chad Ford has him pegged as a 2nd/undrafted player. Scouting reports indicate that he's got some serious problems in terms of lacking athleticism and strength and would basically be a pylon defensively because of it. He could be an interesting spread/stretch 4 given his shooting and smarts, but there would be serious defensive questions with him on the floor.

It would require the Raps buying back into the 2nd round though. They already traded away their 2nd to the Hawks.

It was a hindsight comment.

And bargs was not considered the best prospect. He was considered a top pick because he was to a 7footer who could play all three positions and shoot the three.

They picked bargs because they didn't think they would be able to hold onto the American players when their free agency rolled around. They went into the draft Euro and the chances of holding onto those players would probably be higher. I think most people and sports casters felt lamarcus was The pick toronto should have made.

Or did he prove again that no matter how good you are, you need a strong supporting cast, like Mike had.

Basketball is that sport where one player can win games for that team

He isnt Jordan so lets stop saying he is

With that being said, Lebron carried the Cavs many times but not goo enough to win it for them
I agree supporting cast is needed

Just pointing out that he isnt Jordan

This post is self-contradictory. Does one player win games or is a supporting cast needed?

FYI, Jordan wouldn't have won with this garbage lineup either. Lebron literally did everything humanly possible but ultimately lost to a healthy team. And no, this does not mean he is Jordan. But you can't deny that he just had one of the greatest playoff performances ever.

MJ or Kobe would not have won either with this brutal Cavs team. Lebron is definitely comparable to MJ, and has the potential to surpass him. Only time will tell. But those who keep putting Lebron down for not winning have no idea what they are talking about. Switch Lebron with MJ/Kobe's situations in regards to their teams, and see how many rings Lebron gets.

Let him walk. I said it long ago Lou is going to get way more then toronto will or should be willing to spend on what he brings. Use his money on upgrading the starting lineup, because there's a lot of options for Toronto via trade or free agency.

I also wouldn't be suprised to see GV, traded and someone like lin brought in to backup kyle.

It's not going to be easy finding a legit starting sf or pf but there are options. Would love to steal offer sheet the rebounding machine. TT. And steal Harris away from the magic.

Val
Thompson
Harris
Demar
Kyle

That's a legit starting 5.
