Probably not, but it seems stranger in this case if Houde-Carron starts to play for Concordia in the same season. :amazed: It should be a two-way street (if a Concordia player graduated and wanted to come to UNB at Christmas for his MBA).

No. The rules in the two conferences are different. There are a lot of things in life that "should be this or that", but aren't. The constant comparison of apples to oranges does nothing to resolve the issue. You're better than this......:(

According to 'Foyle, there should be no adverse effect, unless the faculty can somehow get the coaches and staff to honour the picket line.

What he said. It is having a bit of an impact on all UNB varsity athletes in that they are creatures of habit, and going to class and studying is part of that routine.

By the way, Ben Duffy is now playing Senior hockey in Newfoundland on weekends, just as Mike Thomas and Charlie Lavigne did last season.

You'll recognize a few AUS alumni on the Eastlink CeeBee Stars roster with Duffy: Matt Bragg, Wes Welcher, Nick Theriault, Joey Perricone, Matthew Quinn, and Brad Yetman and a couple of long-time AHLers in David Ling and Terry Ryan.

Fellow UNB red-shirt Rob Mignardi is playing with the Gander Flyers.

Update: Turns out you can't always go by the stats page. Perricone and Theriault were released by the CeeBee Stars. Looks like Duffy took one of their import spots. Terry Ryan is now with Clarenville.

The Eastlink CeeBee Stars also announce at this time that we are releasing imports Nick Therriault and Joey Perricone and we thank them both for their contribution and wish them well in the future.

Wonder if Duffy sticks it out with them? Thomas and Lavigne were both released early into last year.

Side note, Theriault is now playing senior in Tracadie.

Even though it was a great win for UNB last night they were guilty of giving up a couple of bad goals, the last minute goal in the 1st and another goal off a turn over.

In a way that's good news because they can still play better defensively.

They also have played almost all year without Tyler Carroll who has been a big part of their offense the past few seasons.

This is a young UNB team that should only get better, and hopefully make less mistakes. Last night there were only 8 players in the line-up who were in the University Cup championship game back in March.

Carroll and Tim Priamo didn't play. Critchlow who did play last night was of course suspended by the AUS during the playoffs and missed the UCup.

So take Critch out of mix, and that means there were still 11 guys last night who are in their first year of learning how to play UNB hockey (yes that includes senior transfers Shea Kewin and Charlie Lavigne).

Bodes well for their future doesn't it? The question is whether UNB can pull it all together in time to win the AUS this season.

There is definitely room for improvement for this team, but at the same time, that was probably their best game of the year (that I have seen). What is even better, from being around the rink today, everyone is talking about it, even the guys from the Acadia training staff agreed that it was a great game last night.
It's a real shame that they are not selling out every night, people around here don't know the calibre of hockey they are missing.

Ok - since I don't see JP on this list, can we now assume he has moved on? Too bad, he had some good energy and skill - just a numbers game and given that we will likely lose Culligan, MacNeil & Kewin, there would be space for him next year.

I see they don't want to risk Carroll getting hurt again - too bad.
