Confirmed.

The San Jose Sharks give up a premier experienced rearguard (Pronger) and a longterm potential star (Stafford) in exchange for two offensive talents on the cusp of NHL careers and two immediate picks.

It was tolerable to deal Pronger only because the Sharks have Lidstrom and Aucoin, with young Bouwmeester maturing fast. As a G.M., the advantages of doing the deal was determined to be greater than the cost.

Oakland Seals coach Ted Nolan welcomes great AHL scorers Mike Cammalleri and Jason King to the team. "Both guys hussle and get it done," Nolan said in this afternoon's Seals press conference. "They are key components in our run for the Calder Cup."

Rumour has it Nolan has been promised the Sharks head coaching job after Scotty Bowman's two-year contract is up.
