god I hope they retire fight pass next year, and align with Netflix or Amazon or some other reasonably established streaming service instead.

There is talk the next TV deal could be on an entirely digital platform. Haven't heard anything about Netflix, but Amazon was floated out there.

Zabit Magomendsharipov and Muslim Slaikhov should put on good fights.
Yeah if you don't watch the Zabit fight you are missing the **** out.
I was watching the other guys highlight real and he looks like a beast too.

Real crap fight time if you're in north america though.

That's what Fight Pass with the results turned off is for.

I'm not sure if Gastelum had a tough cut or if it'll be a factor at all but he needed the towel to sneak in at 186 lbs.

Wow that was a brutal KO by Gastelum.

Bisping should just hang them up.

Gastelum is very talented and could be a WW champion contender if he wasn't a fat f***. Too small for MW

Gastelum did his thing but Bisping really shouldn’t have been in the fight to begin with.

This is exactly right. He had zero business being in that ring so quickly after fighting GSP. The UFC and Dana White should be ashamed of themselves for pulling this garbage. They pretend they give a flying f*** about Hunt and pull him off the card for a story he wrote, yet they let a guy who doesn't know any better come in at the last second and get dropped? It's shameful.

It's totally alright for the UFC as long fighters shut up about their health. Mark Hunt talking about how he's wrecking his health fighting and accepting his fate? Can't have that; that's bad for PR. Meanwhile it's perfectly fine for a a half blind guy off a finish loss to take a fight because Bisping doesn't ever disclose those things and the UFC "doctors" cleared him. Yup definitely no problems. :sarcasm:

It's incredible how much of a scumbag Dana White is, and it's just one of those things that's accepted. Makes sense why GSP wanted to start a fighters union after he stepped away.

I get that with Silva being dropped from the card it was going to make it thin, but seriously? Gastelum is an amazing fighter, Bisping had no business being in there 3 weeks after his GSP fight. He was knocked down and choked unconscious, not only is that not enough time to recover from a loss like that, but not enough time to prepare for this kind of fight.

Where did you guys go to medical school?

No need to get a medical degree to evaluate the situation. Even if Bisping did not suffer any physical injuries during the GSP fight, you have to take preparation and mental health into consideration. Gastelum is not some can, he's a young fighter entering his prime that has the potential to be a champ someday.

I complain often about some things the UFC does, but taking care of the health of their fighters is not one of them. They've pulled fighters last-minute for health concerns despite it hurting their product countless times and honestly probably saved many guys lives that would've had serious problems if they were fighting in a smaller promotion.

Bisping didn't need the money and he's an extremely smart guy - he's not some no-name fighting on short-notice to pay his bills. If he had any major health issues, he wouldn't have taken the fight.

So if you want to rip on the UFC for this, maybe take a look at other things going on in the sport. The #2 organization in the world let Dada 5000 & Kimbo Slice fight and we all know what happened there. We also know what happened with Tim Hague. The UFC is the standard in MMA in terms of protecting the health of their fighters.

They're the standard for protecting their own interests, and any bad press indicating that they look reckless or dangerous in any way makes them look bad and hurts them. So yes, in a roundabout way, they are the best. But they still have a giant amount of work to do.

Of course it protects their own interest too, but you can say that about any company that has safety policies. The whole sport has a giant amount of work to do. Part of that is on the UFC, but their treatment of fighters is a 7/10 while the rest of the industry hovers around a 2 or 3. I know it's more fun to bash on the UFC for things, but lets get a bit of perspective here.

The UFC could've shut things down pretty quickly so they deserve blame but there's more than one party at fault. The commission didn't have to waive the suspension and Bisping's team could've stepped in as well. Also, according to Bisping, he was the one who called the UFC after the Anderson Silva news and asked to replace him so it's not like they went to him. They then had him do a bunch of tests and the doctors cleared him. Having Bisping fight was a terrible decision from the very beginning though and most people knew it.
