Clendening has found his game in Rockford too. Weird how both AHL guys just needed to go back to familiar surroundings.

What do Roadrunners fans expect the line-up to look like after today's trades? How does this roster stack up against others in the West? I'd be pumped to see the team make a big run. I think it would be really good for our prospects.

EDIT: Looks like they're 2nd in the WC in P% but 7th in the WC in PP%. They picked up two big PP performers in Camper and Murphy today. Exciting.

Exactly. So while they probably won't have him for the next little while, possibly even until the Coyotes season is done, he'll surely be down in Tucson for the playoffs, right?

Almost certainly. He didn't even crack the lineup over Freddie Hamilton.
I think they are just giving him an NHL check or 4 and have him hang around for emergencies.

And rather than feel guilty about it, and have to apologize to Sullivan and Van Ryn for it, Chayka just went shopping instead. Haha. It's always better to come home with roses. :)

Chakya shored up the RR who are still missing Merkley, Capobianco and for now, Dauphin. Probably running something like this until those injuries come back:
Crouse Strome Pederson
Bunting Camper Kempe
McGinn MacInnis Sislo
Labrie Maletta Looke
Garland
That 4th line with 6'3-228 Labrie and 6'3-220 Maletta could be entertaining.

Wow who is scratched when Merk and Dauphin are back? I know Sislo has been doing alright. Has Kempe or McGinn slowed down enough to scratch?

I'd assume Mac will be the 4th line center when Dauphin comes back and Maletta ends up odd C out. Merkley coming back would push the RWs down and Looke can join Garland in the press box, Maggio is on a PTO and can head back to Ft Wayne then.

Hey Tuxonpups, what's the story on Garland...he was increasing his pt production there for a while and now it seems he's in the pressbox more than he is on the ice?

He was on the first PP unit as the 4th forward with Crouse-Strome-Merkley early on and around when Merkley went down they shook the unit up so Sislo became the 4th forward, with either Kempe or more recently Pederson in Merkley's spot. Without the PP time he's pretty ineffective and has been routinely scratched the last month.

I'm glad we drafted Garland instead of burning a late pick on a grinder. There was some potential there. Obviously it hasn't translated to the pro level. It's only a matter of time until he's playing in a Euro league.

Even though the Garland experiment has failed, it wouldn't stop me from similar dice rolls in the future. Draft talent. Don't draft specialists.

I'm okay with a specialist if they are very good at something, but I always think the home run swing in the late rounds are the way to go.

Tyler Steenbergen pick in the 5th round is looking pretty good right now.
A gifted goal scorer at the junior level he could be a great fit next to Stepan or possibly Strome. in a couple years.

Johnny Gaudreau was a risk pick like this. I'm with you.

Merkley was back on Wednesday for the loss against Grand Rapids, made a beauty no look pass to Strome for a goal. New guys Labrie and Murphy both got into the line-up.
Against Cleveland tonight both former Monsters' Camper and Maletta draw in against their former team:

FORWARDS
LAWESON CROUSE (67) - DYLAN STROME (91) - NICK MERKLEY (38)
MARIO KEMPE (20) - CARTER CAMPER (29) - LANE PEDERSON (18)
TYE MCGINN (16) - RYAN MACINNIS (72) - MIKE SISLO (9)
MICHAEL BUNTING (27) - JORDAN MALETTA (26) - JENS LOOKE (24)
DEFENSEMEN
TREVOR MURPHY (28) - JOEL HANLEY (44)
ANDREW CAMPBELL (2) - DYSIN MAYO (37)
DAKOTA MERMIS (43) - KYLE WOOD (3)
GOALTENDERS
ADIN HILL (33)
HUNTER MISKA (35)
