Spezza was arguably our best player when we went to the finals. He has a history of elevating his game in the playoffs even going as far back as his first ever playoff game. I highly doubt that he's a loser and okay with it, there's just not room for everybody to win a championship. Many great players never win anything.

Im talking about winning in general. Spezza's play style, lack of effort and lack of defensive ability(or not even trying to play defense) is for losers.

Its obvious he's ok with it because he's done nothing to try to change. He's essentially the same player that we drafted 13 years ago.

Read the last line again. Whether it's due to the numerous injuries he has suffered throughout his career or simply regression because of age, Spezza is not the offensive player he once was.

Spezza's PPG is the lowest it has been since his rookie season.

Getzlaf had the worst year of his career in 11/12. Does that mean he isn't an offensively elite talent anymore? Ovechkin too. He must be done.

I used to say "trade spezza" to make fun of all the people who wanted some good young pieces for him.

These are terrible example. Neither have had Spezza's amount of injuries.

Was he in his 30s with a decade of injury problems, skated like he was in molasses(when he does skate) and never back checks or does anything defensively?

If he was in his young or mid 20s sure.

Hell, even if he was his age and didn't have a history of injuries sure.

If he put effort sure.

It's the combination of all of these. I see him glide back on the back check. Seriously captain? Move your ****ing feet!

Ovechkin had 65 points in 78 games that season - that's nearly a 70 point pace. I would be ecstatic if Spezza managed to hit 70 points this season.

Getzlaf had 57 points in 82 games. I will not deny that that is a poor offensive season for a player of his calibre. However, as I mentioned previously, he brings a lot more to the table than simply goals and assists. Spezza really doesn't.

Your comparisons are poor.

So what are their excuses then?

Up until this most recent injury, Spezza always came back an produced fine. I'm willing to give him more than 2/3rds of a season after missing a whole season to get back into his groove before I deem his career finished.

70 pts is pretty sad for a guy who was considered a generational talent by some and the only person to challange Crosby as best player in the world. The guys career pace is 100pts per 82, and that includes his off season.

In the other board people are saying spezza isn't playing well this year because" hes a loser and is OK with it." These players also had bad years, for reasons other than injury, so they must be even more ok with it.

Simpsons said on the radio that there are rumours of Phillips being traded to Boston, probably because he read that stuff on hfboards. Mendez roasted him for it.

How long until people start declaring that radio guys confirmed rumours of Phillips to Boston?

Its like a ******** snowball.

Mendez questioned where he got his information and he chuckled his ass off.

Can't prove that he is wrong, just like you can't prove that Im wrong when I say that last night i was watching porn with Brian Murray in an after hours bar, and he told me that Edmonton offered to trade Eberle for Weircioch and a first round pick.

Except hes waaaaaaayyyy more qualified to know the stuff he claims he knows, than you are (to my knowledge) to do the things you stated that you did last night . He didn't release his source to Mendes, not many people do release their sources.
