Yeo was 38 when he took over, and Richards was 43.

Evason won't be gone until his contract runs out or the heat under GMBG's seat starts getting hot. I was done with Evason after the Playin series when he was outcoached and looked completely lost behind the bench.

Evason is the only rookie coach the Wild hired over 50, so that still doesn't line up.
I've been done with Deano for years at this point.
I don’t even remember richards, yikes. I suppose all the non sense has just run together in my mind that the coaching hires are all just rinse and repeat older coaches not wanting to change.

I think we can all agree we were done with Evason early in his time here

I would say let’s trade Gus, but let’s do it after next year when he has a full season as a starter behind the most boring team in the league, not just 40 games. I truly believe Gus is a good NHL goalie, but I also believe our team inflates goalies numbers. If he plays like he did last year over a full season, teams will be falling over themselves to trade for him. 25yo bonafide #1 goalie? I just think his value can get a lot higher (Cory Schneider got 9OA) and I don’t see the point in maneuvering right now when we don’t have a replacement. After next year, Wallstedt should be ready for 1B duties, and we’ll be able to sign players to contract extensions. Think Lindholm this year, we could aquire a guy like that because he’s cheap this year but we can also extend him. Not saying that’s the move I’d make, it’s just an example. It’s a long winded way of saying I still think we have some value we can get out of Gus.

I mean would Pittsburgh trade for Gus? Would something like the 21st pick and Gus for the 14th and another draft pick work

There’s not enough value difference between 14 and 21 to do something like that. And no, another pick that’s not a 1st rounder isn’t going to change my mind.

Absolutely. As much as i'd like a Dvorsky or Danielson(probably gone at #14, anyway), they project to be #2c's if everything turns out right. No way i'm giving up a young NHL G(not prospect!!) who had the second best stats in the league to move up 7 freaking spots. Just about every GM in the league would jump at that chance.

Addison, maybe. I don't like it, but it appears that BG/Dean don't like him, so we might as well pull the bandaid off.

I’ve seen some interesting trade proposals for Addison that bring back a big replacement RD and a pick. Like Kovacevic (25 y/o, 6’4” 208 lbs) + 3rd for Addison + 5th.

If a trade is made, I don’t think that would be too terrible of a return.

I just don't want another Middleton. If we do make a trade for size can we at least make sure the guy can play hockey too?

I can't say I know much about Kovacevic but, if he's replacement level, I think I'd rather keep Addison than move up two rounds unless it's into the 2nd or earlier. I'm not a fan of Addison, largely due to his attitude toward learning, but I'd rather have a PP specialist than a replacement player and a pick where would be considered outstanding drafting to have it turn into a PP specialist. I think the Wild give up the best player in that deal by a fair margin.

Now if Kovacevic is more than replacement level, I'd be interested.

Either wait a year and see how Gus looks or wait till we're out of cap hell to go after a top C. Moving one of Gus or Wally would be a gigantic mistake right now. Huge.

I could not handle all the bit@$ing next year if all we had in net was Fleury. And if one of Gus or Wally failed here after we shipped the other guy out....well that's also a ton of crying that would leave this board in shambles.

We don't know for sure what we have in BOTH of those goalies yet. So we sit on it. These next couple of years are gonna hurt with the cap crunch. We need to sit tight, suck it up, and wait for that dead cap to wear off.

When I say replacement, I just mean he will take Addison’s spot in the lineup. Admittedly, I haven’t seen a ton of Kovacevic, but his even strength numbers are better both offensively and defensively. He was also around .5 ppg in the AHL and NCAA. So there is some semblance of offensive capability.
