This is possibly the ugliest trade I've ever seen.

All kinds of big and bad contracts and players going both ways.

March 1, 2010

"The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Sunday the acquisition of veteran goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere from Anaheim for netminder Vesa Toskala and forward Jason Blake."

Perhaps it was the start of a strong trade relations between ANA/TOR. Or perhaps a long tradition of dumping goaltenders in ANA.

Jason Blake scored goals, but he skated all over the zone to eventually shoot the puck into any goalies' chest. I never laughed so much as I did at Blake with the puck.

Toskala's career was well documented. JFJ bought the hype and gave up a 1st to get him from SJ. Pucks seemed to go through him. He had to stand on his head just to look average in the net.

JSG had a great career, but not with TOR. As a Leaf he looked like a slow big equipment goalie.

Happy to get rid of Toskala and Blake, but more pain to come.

Anyway, who won this trade (as ugly as it is to look at)?
