Seabrook, Ehrhoff, Boumeester, Kronwall, and Spacek could be big next year, but idk about leading the NHL-big.

Gonchar seems to do well when there are low expectations, so he should continue his late-season-surge in Pittsburgh.

Morris is also a decent choice, and Preissing had an excellent 05-06.

Carle is a sleeper pick.

Lol isn't Gonchar in his 30's, shouldn't we just compare the young guys.
Ozolinsh is 35ish... =). Not sure what he's doing here, either.

1. Gonchar
2. Preissing
3. Cambell
4. Bouwemeester
5. Carle

Just thought I'd add an interesting note, 2 years ago i thought Kondratiev had good offensive potential, slowly my enthusiasm faded away, I was checking last nights AHL scores and he had a 5 point night as to his team won 6-0, so perhaps he,s one to keep an eye on yet.

Can't you see that the blueliners he mentionned are for the most part not elite defencemen (or not quite there yet in some cases) ?

:biglaugh:
And Visnovsky is?

He's good....but I would hardly call him elite...

As for my top 5 point producers, in no particular order:

Brent Seabrook
Sergei Gonchar
Chris Campoli (This guy gets no love)
Jay Bouwmeester
Niklas Kronwall

Maxim Kondratiev

He will tear the league up and will lead all players in points.

I predict 45 goals and 97 assists for Drats.

Campoli is a great player who will be a good #4 down the line, but he isn't as polished as some of the other defensemen.

Not much love for Wideman, although I wouldn't put him in the top five either. Wideman is definately a sleeper.

He's top 10 easy in my opinion. That elite in my book.

Pronger
Chara
Redden
Neidermayer
Phaneuf
Kaberle
Lidstrom
Zubov
Pitkanen
Blake
Ohlund
Salo
Jovanovski
Foote

Most people would agree these guys are all better than him...I know I for one wouldn't take Visnovsky over any of these guys, and I would be tempted to take McCabe, Kronwall, Regher, Meszaros and Bouwmeester ahead of him as well...I would hardly call that elite. Is he a good defenseman? Of course, but to say he is top 10 easy is a bit of a stretch.
