doesnt look like there will be many drafted players out of the NCAA.
To be fair, there are a ton of players that will be drafted who will be NCAA freshmen next season (vanRiemsdyk and Turris, to name a pair).
There are rarely a ton of players drafted out of college. They are either later bloomers or late birthdays(88's this year). A lot of drafted players compete in the NCAA, but are drafted before they arrive on campus in the fall.
I think we can expect to see 2 dozen or so prospects for the first 3 rounds in the NCAA next season, no?
Fair to say
Most years there really aren't, however usually there are a ton of players from HS, the USHL, USNTP and Junior A teams that are taken that end up playing NCAA hockey the year after they're drafted. I'd expect about 7 or 8 guys playing NCAA hockey this year to be drafted, most will have to wait for offers after their junior or senior year before knowing which NHL team they end up with.
Bobby Butler's the man!
