Guys, barring anything unforeseeable and with the graduations of Malkin, Lehtonen, Getlaf, Brule, Ward, Semin, Barker, Wolski, Kopitar, Kessel, J Staal, Radulov, etc to the NHL (at least I believe all these guys made it). Do you think Toews will crack the top 5 in HF's top 50 next fall ? Very elite competition in the Johnson's, Backstrom, Ryan, etc. Is he that good ? Or "just" the top 10 ? Thanks !

I haven't seen Ryan play much this season, but based on a loss of hype (and the general love of newcomers in these type of ratings) I dunno that he will be a top 5 guy...

IMO, it totally depends on how he does at North Dakota the rest of the season. Everyone knows the guy has a world of talent, but one tournament does not get you into the top 5 by default. So far this year, he's been somewhat injury plagued and inconsistent. If he finishes out the year playing like he played in Sweden, he has a chance to crack the top 5. Otherwise, probably more likely to be 8-10.

So far, so good. First game back tonight, he had 2 assists in a 3-3 tie vs. Alaska-Anchorage.

    Did I mention that..
Book Toews as Top-5..... defensive specialists.

But seriously, add EJ, JJ, Backstrom, Mueller.

Mueller...meh. I didn't think he had as impressive a WJC tournament as alot of people did.

I haven't had a chance to see any of his WHL games, so if you want to compare their regular league performances to one another, that's fine (though Toews has been battling an injury this year).

But as far as the WJCs, no way Mueller was better.
