Toews is a winner. Every level he has played at he has won. To go three for three in the shootout is incredible. The Chicago Blackhawks are very lucky to have him.
He's the man. I would have made him the captain of this squad (no disrespect to Letang, who is fine). As Pete McGuire would say, "Chicago fans, start getting excited!"
Chicago fans, get excited about this young man. I don't think I heard that enough throughout the course of this tournament.
Except Kane. Which was strange, considering I think he has the most pure offensive creativity out of all the shooters.
Yep, every shot that went in was in that weak spot for butterfly goalies - below the hands, above the pads. If he just shot it, he probably scores.
Not to mention the great scoring chance he missed in the final minutes of the game. I'm a big fan of Kane but he's gotta step up when the team needs it.
Toews will be on the hawks. If UND goes down early this year, he'll be with the hawks by the end of the year IMO. For what its worth I also think Skille will be on the hawks next season. -fullmetalninja
Ya that shootout performance was pretty sick but I love how Toews plays an all around game. Often with young players their defensive play is overhyped a bit (ie Malkin) but this guy is the real deal. I love how he comes back to break up plays (like the 2 on 1 vs USA) and he really bears down on defensive zone faceoffs. Two way player at a young age...great to see
