For the preliminary round rankings, is it the GF-GA differential that counts or the head-to-head against the team with the same amount of points.

Thanks.

i think head to head is first tie breaker

It'd be nice if someone could clear this up. I've seen like 10 people say one thing and then 10 people say the opposite.

If 2 teams are tied, the first tie-breaker is head-to-head and the second tie-breaker is goal differential.
If 3 or more teams are tied, the first tie-breaker is goal differential.

First tie-breaker is head-to-head even if there are 3 teams that are tied.

Nobody have come close so far in this thread lol. ;) It took a while for the Swedish so called experts to figure this out too.

This is how it works. If three teams are tied at the same points its first head to head. Lets say Swiss was tied with Czech and Canada. Swiss have beaten both thoose teams and wins the first tiebreaker.

But if Sweden beats Slovakia, and Swe, Svk and Russia ends up in a three way tie all three teams have beaten each other. Then nobody holds the head-to-head tiebreaker. It then goes on to internal goal difference. Meaning that they create a tabell with Swe, Svk and Rus and look at the results beatween thoose three teams only.

For example Swedens big wins against Kazakstan and Latvia don't count.

Russia have beaten Sweden 5-0, Slovakia have beaten Russian 4-2 and lets say Sweden beats Slovakia 3-0.

This would be the tiebreaking result:
1 Russia 7-4=+ 3
2 Slovakia 4-5=-1
3 Sweden 3-5=-2
