Let’s not hate on the other teams too much but since things can’t really get much worse for Leaf Nation what things about the rest of the league make you feel at least a bit better.
- the Habs only bottomed out for one year. Without Price they aren’t much better than the Leafs, with him they’ll make the playoffs for a long time but they won’t be a contender.
- The Penguins are proving to be the biggest disaster in sports. Picking 5,1,2,1,2 and only getting one cup out of it is hilarious. They will go down as the team with the most squandered cups because they didn’t understand that having $20M in cap space at center was a horrible idea.
- The Flyers suck as much as the Leafs but have to pick later. Lecavalier and Luke Schenn, nuff said.
- Dallas still sucks even with Sequin and the top scorer in the league.
- It’s over for the Canucks. As the Sedins age they are going to fall fast.
- Detroit is old and injury prone and doesn’t have the youth or early picks to contend. They’ll be a bubble team for a long time.
- Ottawa is a bubble team.
- Boston didn’t make the playoffs and it will only get worse as Chara ages. Their goaltenders have shown that they aren’t that great when Chara went down this season.
- New Jersey got ****ed over by Lamoriello’s messing with the CBA. It will take years for them to recover from Kovalchuk.
- San Jose’s run is over. They stuck with their regular season successful core way too long.
- It’s nice to see the Islanders finally get better. Gives us hope.
- The East sucks, even if we were better the West would win the cup.
- It’s nice to see Tampa represent the East, maybe Stamkos will win the cup with Tampa and decide he’s done his part and join the Leafs as a UFA.
- Tickets are easy to get in Buffalo if we want to see Eichel play.
