When do own Tryamkins rights until and what does his khl contract look like. Term? Does it have an out?

The Canucks hold his rights until July 1st 2022. That's when he become a UFA as he'll be 27.

His contract expires April 30th 2020. No out clause has been reported. He would have to buy out his own contract to leave the KHL early.

This is great news in his thread it said we lose his rights the summer his khl contract expires. I have no idea hope you are right as at the very least his rights are an asset. I still believe he will be a star.

Can you read the Tryamkin thread and hopefully Hf boards can get clarity on his canuck rights situation. Maybe get the media involved though the Mcenery situation was messed up by the best of the media while the Canucks knew.

He hasn't played 80 games in the NHL (79), has over 3 pro seasons accrued and is 25 when his KHL contract is up. I think that means he could elect for Group 6 free agency.

See this thread got off track. So right now the 79 games plays lets him declare FA after Khl contract expires. Seems strange a games play rule comes into affect when it is the player who limited his nhl games not the team. I am hopeful we are missing a clause in this rule.
It is important as he will come back some day to Nhl hope it is with us. Out of all the Benning moves the drafting of Tryamkin was the best and the losing him was the worst. I say trade Gudbranson then trade Edler in offseason buy back Tryamkins contract. Hope OJ improves but team is almost as good as this year on d. People are arguing if Biega is better tha Gudbranson. Tryamkin right now is better than both with more potential than Tanev.

He has only had two "professional seasons". A player must be under NHL contract to accrue professional seasons.

For the purpose of determining Group 6 UFAs professional experience, for players over 20 years of age includes 1 game played in a season ANY pro league beyond Junior or Collegiate. He will be a Group 6 UFA when his KHL contract expires.

The whole purpose of Group 6 is to allow players like Tryamkin, who were drafted, but not under NHL contracts and playing in other professional leagues (usually Europe) to achieve NHL free agency without having to wait until 27 years of age. If a team can't sign an player, they shouldn't be able to hold onto his rights forever.

Where did you get that from? In the CBA they define professional games as needing to be under a NHL SPC. If that isn't the case then how come Rodin wasn't a Group 6 UFA?

Also Benning thinks that the Canucks hold his rights until 2022.

No, the CBA is pretty clear that those 3 "professional seasons" must occur while under an NHL contract:

(c) Group 6 Free Agents

(i)
Means any Player who is age 25 or older who has completed three (3) or
more professional seasons, whose SPC has expired and: (i) in the case of a
Player other than a goaltender, has played less than 80 NHL Games, or (ii)
in the case of a goaltender, has played less than 28 NHL Games (for the
purpose of this definition, a goaltender must have played a minimum of
thirty (30) minutes in an NHL Game to register a game played). For the
purposes of the foregoing, the term professional season shall:
(A) for a
Player aged 18 or 19, mean any season in which such Player plays in
eleven (11) or more Professional Games (including NHL Regular Season
and Playoff Games, minor league regular season and playoff games, and
games played in any European professional league, while under an SPC),
and (B) for a Player aged 20 or older, mean any season in which such
Player plays in one or more Professional Games (including NHL Regular
Season and Playoff Games, minor league regular season and playoff
games, and games played in any European professional league, while
under an SPC).

They don't hold his rights forever. They held his rights for 4 years from the draft, and once he agreed to an ELC they got his rights until he was 27.

Sorry to have started this discussion.

I agree with you. On re-reading Article 10.1 of the CBA, BFG won't be an NHL UFA until 2022.

Group 3-7 accrued seasons (those must NHL seasons) or age 27 as of June 30 at the end of a league year. He was born in August, 1994, so won't become a Group 3 UFA until the June 30 following August, 2021-which means June 30, 2022.

Group 5-he won't have 10 professional seasons under a SPC before June 30, 2022.

Group 6-as you say, requires the seasons be under a SPC, and he'll only have 2 of those. He'd need 3 to be a group 6 UFA.

Thanks for pointing this out, and to LeftCoast for pointing out the game requirement for a professional season.
