Leagues have nobody but themselves to blame for the can of garbage worms they've opened, it's only going to get worse and eventually lead to big problems and lawsuits.

As others have mentioned the hypocrisy is monumental, I like betting but realize its all a scam designed to take your money, make the rich richer, like many other things.

This will happen in the NHL, soon. The lessons of the past have been forgotten.
Would be pretty easy to pull off with player SOG prop bets. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already been done before.

Or penalties/fights.

This is what's happened a fair bit in European soccer, where prop bets happen based on whether a player takes a yellow card during a game, and the player tips off gamblers and then follows through. Lucas Paqueta and Granit Xhaka are two very high-profile players who have been tied to this in the last year or so.

It seems like it's not hard to catch these kinds of cases though. Any large bet on a somewhat unlikely event is going to trigger an investigation, and if there's any indication of a connection between the better and the athlete it's going to be pretty obvious. It's fully in the sportsbook's interest to investigate these so they can avoid the large payouts.

I feel like -most- of M Night’s work are perfectly fine premises. Even the Village I found interesting, when that came out 20 years ago. I believe the Mayhem household watched that on PPV thru bootlegged Bell ExpressVu

I thought The Village was pretty good. I also enjoyed Signs. And I would say that starting with Split, he kind of got himself back on track and is on a bit of a run.

But man, having The Happening, Avatar: The Last Airbender and After Earth as three bombs in a row is a hell of a rough patch.
