I’m on the fence with Mike Mussina. When you have to start comparing who is already in that is comparable to him to make your argument, I don’t love it. I feel he’s one of those guys. Like if he actually was a Cy Young winner or World Series winner, instead of “almost”, i would probably be on his side with my non existent vote.

Career Leaders &amp Records for Wins Above Replacement | Baseball-Reference.com The Cy Young is based on only one season and the World Series is a team award. He has a higher WAR than all those guys listed above.

Do you not think those kind of simple optics sway the very human voters?
The Cy Young and Gold Glove are subjective awards so I think they are swayed by subjective awards. I think the wrong people get in. At the moment of his retirement Ryne Sandberg was the all time 2B leader in both homers and fielding percentage and he barely got in on the third ballot. Gold Glove (usually one of the best hitters wins the Gold Glove) award winner Jeter played tons of SS which has the most chances to earn DWAR, but he's not even top 1000 all time in DWAR. He was a bad fielder, but he'll probably be unanimous, and if not it will be a "huge outrage".

With Jeter trading Stanton to the Yankees, the rivalry with the Red Sox will be so hot. I can't wait.  :popcorn:

It's great being uncool. I discovered this show on Netflix called Riverdale. Teen angst, cat fights, Jughead is an amateur detective, it's so bad it's good. Luke Perry is even on it. Betty or Veronica? ;)

Never been to Las Vegas, but I'll be in town over Christmas from the 24th through the 27th.

Any suggestions for stuff to do or local restaurants?

Casinos aren't really my scene so suggestions more in town are welcome.

Sorry, been busy and haven't been watching this thread. So much good off-Strip (read: not overpriced) food around, so budget and preferences would help to narrow it down, but I always suggest The Goodwich regardless. Check ahead for holiday hours though.

Just curious for the Vegas locals since I moved out of town a year ago. Has the interest in the Raiders really grown at all during the season? Its one thing after announcing the team to get some people say that's cool, I want an NFL team here so I'm excited for the Raiders, but now months after and that crowd has stabilized. Now in season the local media seems to be paying a lot of attention to the Raiders, but to really build a fan base some fans are going to have to be willing to switch allegiances and say I'm now with the Raiders. Is any of that happening? The people I talk to when I go back to Vegas for short visits all say I'm not buying PSLs, probably will never go to a game unless its my team playing the Raiders and most say the idea of the Raiders moving seems as big a mistake as what it looks like in LA for the Chargers.

Any thoughts?

Not speaking as a Local I can't speak with too much authority on the subject. But from my understanding the raiders as a brand is a very polarizing one. You either hate them or love them... I'm not sure there is much middle ground. If it's true I guess it comes down to how many raiders fans already exist in Vegas... because I suspect there are a Ton of people like me who love Vegas but won't support the raiders, because they are the raiders. Personally I think almost any other franchise would do better in Vegas for that reason... but I may be completely mistaken about my beliefs.

The Tigers are my favorite AL team and I'm glad Morris and Trammel got in the Hall of Fame.

Ozzie Smith was drafted in the 7th round of the 76 draft by the Tigers, but he didn't sign with them.

I've never liked the Raiders.

Still don't. :naughty:
