Yes, because goalies are very strange individuals & have way too much time on their hands. Weird sticks, weird pads, weird helmets, weird skates=very weird people.

They give me the creeps. They should give you the creeps too. Give them a tap on their pads before & after the game, but stay away from them at all costs! :naughty:

Goalies are like drummer bands...

At the cottage my parents and aunt&uncle own, in the Kawarthas in Ontario. We could skate all the way across the lake when it first froze over, till the snowmobiles ripped up the ice and it refroze all funny. Luckily they left the rink alone.

What lake in the Kawarthas?

someone made a "highlight reel" of my team...we're the ones wearing thrashers colors (blue or white uniforms)....we're all really new at this and it's quite funny

i'm #14 and that's my first game (i skate like i've got a load in my pants :biglaugh:)

"an explosion of catastrophe" is an apt description LOL

LMAO. classic. It's like watching the kids between periods at the game. Keep on skating!

I attended last year's Canucks Adult Hockey Skills Camp and got to have a skate at GM Place. Was hella fun.

Me skating backwards, yeah....thats right, I is so fast all you see is blurrrrrrr....or at least that is what I tell myself

This is Heath explaining to us how not to suck when attacking

n771500117_99186_886.jpg

Skills Camp Photo. David Babych was there. Man he's tall. He told us a story about being coached in Philly to dive at the puck with his stick outstretched to knock the puck away in a desperate situation. He tried it out, and the guy he was marking just skated around the prone Babych and lit the lamp. Bah!

Me running on the endorphins from being able to skate around in GM Place.

I play in an Adult Ball Hockey League around here. I've always loved hockey but never seemed to be good at skating. This is my first year in the league and I'm my teams nomination for "Rookie of the year". I definitely won't win the award because there is another rookie tearing it up.

My gear :

Stick : CCM Vector composite
Skates : well Addidas soccer shoes
Shin Pads : Nike Soccer shin pads
Helmet : CCM
Gloves : CCM

Itech Throat Protector
Franklin Blocker and Catcher
CCM Vector 6.0 Goalie Stick

The zippers were originally made for people to pull the pants over their skates when getting dressed. But it has become popular to unzip them in order to get better movement, and because they fit looser. I started wearing mine unzipped and now the zipper broke so I'm stuck with them like that.

Hate to nitpick about rules, but...

If you play in Canada, having the zippers undone or having your pants ripped is against the rules. If referees aren't catching you in warmup, they're not doing their jobs. If the zipper is broken or they are torn, tape them up.

The more you know.. ;)
