Jordan Staal has been sent to the Penguins in exchange for Bennett, Clendening, Jarry, Dupuis and a 2nd in 2016. We wil also be retaining 2 million on Staal which means we can no longer retain salary in any future trades as we're now at the limit.

I will fire up the laptop in a bit and work on our roster and assets since a certain someone who said they would do it did not.

Hmm, this is what I had feared. I wasn't aware of where we stood regarding the contract limit and completely failed to take it into account.

I'll include that in my next post so it can be taken into consideration in the future. For now it should be ok as it's the summer. As long as we're compliant by the season.

Here's the link to the Jordan Staal trade. Maybe Dave can put them in the OP so we can easily access them in the future. Then when opposing fans make a proposal for a player we've already moved we can easily point them to the thread.

I know it's not an issue once they're sent back to juniors and we should have at least 3 heading that way (McKeown, Ned, Fleury) after training camp. I think we need to figure this out before we can get going on this thing.

edit: I'll get a 2015-16 capology going, use that for reference.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe there is any contract limit until sometime in October. Probably to let teams get their kids their 9 games before having to do anything concrete.
