Mats Zuccarello for Pesce/Slavin.

Not going to lie, I loved Zucs during that Cup run the Rangers had and IIRC he was an upcoming FA the next season. I probably would have agreed to this since we had no idea what Slavin/Pesce would become and both were at least another full season from coming on board.

Good thing I'm not the GM.

Now that Francis is fired and Dundon has said he'll be aggressive, we're going to see these types of proposals from here on out. Buckle up.
Rest assured, people here will overreact to every single one. It's probably best to just debate the few rumors or proposals that are reasonable, but I guess it's like a train wreck that some can't look away from. Much like the posters that can't get over a few idiots on the BOH forum or keep bringing up Mitch Marner.

I never realized that almost all of Prices contract is signing bonuses. $70M in signing bonuses and $14M in salary. I guess that's so if there's every another lockout, he still gets paid?

Yup, on July 1st like a clock. McDavid too, only 1 or 2M Base Salaries mostly:

Connor McDavid - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Quite a few guys have bigger signing bonus negotiated for the suspect years.

He would get paid the signing bonuses at the very least I believe. And since that type of contract is almost buy out proof (based on the lack of savings), they're probably hoping for more compliance buyouts.

Speaking of lockouts, I have a hard envisioning Dundon being a fan of them. He seems to be very much about the players and the money revenue isn't an end all be all thing for him. He's only 1 voice out of 31 owners, but I could see him being a big voice to make sure a lockout doesn't happen again.

Hard to say how Dundon will feel after a few years in control. The more interesting thing will be if the league is willing to burn everything to the ground in what is I think supposed to be Seattle's first or second year.

I wonder how Dundon will fit in with the old boys club of the BoG, being a “disruptive” force and what not.

I'm with DaveG....I'd take Price at 8.5 per I think...just so I didnt have to think about our Goalie anymore.

But theres no way in hell I'm giving up a solid player in the deal. (Necas, Hanifin...etc) maybe Faulk tho!

We wouldn't have to think about our goalie? You mean there'd be nothing to worry about him still having a huge contract (that hasn't even started yet) for 8 more years, for a goalie coming off an awful year, that has had lots of injuries, and is on the wrong side of 30? That's what terrifies me.

Price’s contract scares the **** out of me. As I (and others) said the day it was signed, great goalie but I’m not spending that much cap on one

Yup. He also has an injury history and has a .904 sv% this year (Though on a bad team). But goalies shouldn't be paid that much or committed to that long. If I'm a GM I stay farrrrr away from him and his contract.
