Hockey Hall of Fame - Induction Showcase - 2018 Induction Eligibility

There are errors in the goaltenders section. This started happening last year and it was never fixed. Goalies who won Stanley Cups, not Canada Cups, are now listed as having won Canada Cups, not Stanley Cups. I asked the Hockey Hall Of Fame to fix these errors numerous times, and they haven't yet. These errors didn't appear until last year.

Lorne Chabot won 2 Stanley Cups, not 2 Canada Cups
Ron Hextall never won the Stanley Cup, he is listed with 1
Dave Kerr won 1 Stanley Cup, not 1 Canada Cup
Andy Moog won 3 Stanley Cups, not 3 Canada Cups
Chris Osgood won 3 Stanley Cups, not 3 Canada Cups
John Ross Roach won 1 Stanley Cup, not 1 Canada Cup
Mike Vernon won 2 Stanley Cups, not 2 Canada Cups

Please fix these errors soon, thank you.

I took a look and the goalie list looked incomplete. They have Felix Potvin there, but no Kiprusoff, Giguere, Turco... Vokoun actually meet all the requirements. 700 games 300 wins and 51 shutouts. Don´t know what to think about that list.

2 Stanley Cups, won the Clancy, won the Masterton, All-Star 1994, played over 1100 regular season games.
Good grief, Adam Graves? One 2nd-team All-Star appearance and he's a Hall of Famer?

The Hall of Fame is not a participation ribbon. It *should* be (he says) only for the most elite-level players, coaches, builders. Adam Graves is about 4 levels below what the minimum level should be.

Their paths did cross...

Years in the NHL

1921-1935: John Ross Roach (Toronto, New York, Detroit)
1926-1937: Lorne Chabot (New York, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago)
1930-1941: Dave Kerr (Montreal, New York)

..but they were never teammates.

The years female players were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame: 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017.

I guess this means there most likely won't be any female inductees in 2018.

I will post my many predictions for the 2018 Hockey Hall of Fame class soon.

Willie O'Ree outside "Willie O'Ree Place" in his hometown of Fredericton, NB, 2017.

There is a big push to have Willie O'Ree inducted into the HHOF as a builder this year. A large submission has been sent to the Chairman of the HHOF. The City of Fredericton (Willie's hometown), the Province of New Brunswick, and representatives of the Government of Canada and the U.S. Government are all behind the bid. Letters of support have been sent by many supporters, including one from P.K Subban's father.

Willie was the first black player in the NHL. He currently works for the NHL, as Diversity Ambassador.

Former NHL player Brad McCrimmon and the KHL team he was coaching died in a plane crash in Russia in September of 2011. Oddly, three months earlier, in June of 2011 the Hockey Hall Of Fame announced the inductees for 2011, and three of the four inductees were former teammates of Brad McCrimmon in Calgary, Detroit, and Philadelphia. Joe Nieuwendyk, Doug Gilmour, and Mark Howe all mentioned Brad McCrimmon in their induction speeches in November of 2011.

Is that right?. Good stuff. Did a lot to grow the game in the San Diego area over several decades as well.

Yeah, he played minor league hockey in Southern California for a long time, lived there for decades. I think he lives in the Bay Area now. Still visits NB quite often too.

Hockey Hall of Fame - Induction Showcase - 2018 Induction Eligibility

In 2017 HHOF voters went with the top 3 NHL goal scorers who hadn't been inducted yet: Selanne, Andreychuk, and Recchi, for induction, plus Kariya. I think that trend will continue this year. If they induct a female player this year, it will be Jayna Hefford, the highest scoring retired female player, but most likely there won't be a female inductee for 2018. Keep in mind the HHOF only inducts up to 4 male players each year. Also, Martin Brodeur is a lock for 2018 no matter the scenario. So here are my 16 predictions for the Hockey Hall Of Fame's Class of 2018:

All 500+ goal scorers eventually get inducted. Verbeek will be inducted.

Who won't make the HHOF under my criteria? Darren Puppa, Ken Wregget, Steve Smith, Reggie Lemelin, Chris Terreri, Mark Fitzpatrick, and hundreds of others.

Interesting realization. There seems to be a suggestion of benchmarks for retired NHLers - 500 plus goals, SC winning goalies, etc but no benchmarks for female or International players.
