Playing soccer when you lose a player down can be exhausting whether it's late in the game or early in the game. I think it was Real Madrid who won a game recently with 10 players in a big match.

However, I was reading an article on how red cards effect the game of soccer for the European Leagues. A red card or at least one happened slightly less 20% of all games tracked.

More red cards were given to the away team than the home team not surprisingly. The away team managed to win 266 out of 1,932 tracked with a red card at least with one player down and the home team winning 585 games of 1,378 with a player down.

Obviously the chances of winning a man down drops when you lose the player. It would have been helpful if they broke down on how this would affect the game if it was 1-1 or 2-1 score etc..

However, I have not seen any stats on how Red Cards affect or increase scoring in football, I mean soccer.
