Sportswriter Wayne Coffey has come out with a book on the team behind "the Miracle on Ice" entitled The Boys of Winter: The Untold Story of a Coach, a Dream, and the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. It is from publisher Crown and lists for $23.95 (Canada: $33.95.)
Coffey does an interesting thing in telling the story of the 1980 hockey gold. As he recounts the events that unfolded in Lake Placid, New York, Coffey goes into biographical information on the individual players, coaches and others that formed the team. There is great information on how they developed their passion for hockey and what they are doing now. Coffey does a superb job of showing what drove these men to their historical victory.
The book is available on all the major online bookstores, as well as the good old brick and mortar types.
