I am confident the vast majority of coaches in the NHL would have done was Hynes did. Default to the veterans. That's just what they do.

Just need to hope they pull through! And Stafford did have a two goal game against the Lightning back in October, even though they were against Budaj lol

Outside of Mueller for Lovejoy, i think Hynes made the right call (thus far), to put Cory and Stafford in.

Stafford will be really fresh, fighting for his career, had some decent play up until he got cut out. He'll definitely want to play to keep himself in the lineup, can grind it out better than Bratt on the bottom 6. I'm a huge fan of Bratt, but I think Stafford in tonight makes some coaching sense. Maybe his bad puckluck will end tonight.

Nothing else needs to be said about Cory that wasn't said earlier here.

It's a real head-scratcher that Bratt isn't in while Stafford is. I don't get it.
I mean....I understand that Hynes wants to win and everything but with the Devils being in the situation they are in, isn't it a better idea to put your OTHER *young* player(that has shown success during the regular season) out there in games that he can gain invaluable experience(at only 19 years of age!) going forward?
