The real question is where does Button have him on his list?

He had him #47 on his March rankings. Doubt he has seen Kaut outside of the WJC this year though. He's a late birthday (meaning no international U18 play) and plays in Europe (and in probably the least scouted league at that).

I watched some more footage on him recently and I'm probably gonna bump him up to #5 on my list. Will be interesting to see in coming years if I look like a genius or an idiot ;)

Isn't there rumors out there the Habs and Timmins don't care about the perceived rankings and might select Kotkaniemi #3 overall?

I know their fans want to trade down and get assets or trade Max Pac to be able to select the Finish C but I think they legit might take him #3 overall. They are in desperate need of a C. He's Finnish (the whole Saku Koviu thing). He's talented. Had a dominant performance at the U-18s.

1. Buf - Dahlin
2. Car - Svech (think they trade this pick)
3. Mtl - Kotkaniemi
4. Ott - Zadina
5. Ari - Tkachuk
6. Det - Bouchard
7. Van - Dobson
8. Chi - Hughes
9. NYR - Wahlstrom
10. Edm - Boqvist

I think Van may go Boqvist at #7. If that happens then I see Dobson being our pick at #10.

I dont think Hughes will make it past Detroits pick. Our choice at 10 will be whoever falls from Dobson, Bouchard, and Boqvist. I have a feeling its gonna be Boqvist. That would make me an extremely happy man.

Have to agree that the needs of the teams ahead of us mean that one of the big four will likely drop to us, making the debate about Smith moot. I still wouldn't mind taking him though.

I have a feeling that Kotkaniemi will be picked ahead of us and that someone will drop but I don’t think it will be one of the other D. I think it will be Tkachuk or Wahlstrom.

So at 10 do you pick Smith or one of Tkachuk or Wahlstrom. That’s the choice I think we will have to make.

I could see Wahlstrom, which would be great. Tkachuk seems to be firmly in the top-5 all season, no reason to think that changes just because the fans here don't believe he should be in that spot.

Wahlstrom. LHD really isn't as big of a need as RW is, and imo Wahlstrom is the clear BPA. However, I have heard that he prefers to play the right side, in which case I may prefer him. He did post better numbers than Seth Jones and Ivan Provorov.

If Tkathuck Wahlstrom and Smith are our options you have to go with Tkatchuck. We've seen the impact his brother has made as a complimentary piece on our rival team. Easy choice for me, and with the way Chia likes his team I would think it would be an easy choice for him as well.

I take Tkachuk third. We have enough big bodied guys who are a bit lower on the skill. I take Wahlstrom. Guy knows how to play with elite talent, because he has been and has a killer shot

Not overly opposed to either, but I for sure would take them both over Smith. Brady is going to be a great player in the league for a long time, a complimentary player for sure, but a good one none the less.

No chance Wahlstrom is available at 10. I take Wahlstrom and run

Been a Tkachuk guy all year, I was sure (and hoping) we’d draft Matthew, until PLD went 3rd. Great bloodlines, skillset, and that Tkachuk style of play you can’t teach. I see him going #5 sadly (hopefully I’m wrong). Tkachuk has scored I believe 4 goals for BU since the wjc. I hope that hinders his ranking. Even if we somehow draft him, I’d prefer him playing one more season for BU. Captaining the US at the wjc. Since I believe he will be taken, unless we trade down, Wahlstrom and Hughes is who I’d want, if available.

Well I was gone all weekend, but looks like the Titan's will be going to the Memorial Cup. Will be a good chance to see Dobson against top competition.

The Bulldogs somehow beat the Greyhounds, so the OHL won't have much draft talent to showcase there.

Nurse's cousin, Issac, is in his draft+1 year. He's had a pretty good season and solid playoffs. He might have a small shot in the 6th/7th.

Good chance to see Arthur Kaliyev though. He'll likely be the OHL's best player for the 2019 draft.

I will be attending a majority of the games... I will give some feedback on many of the players for everyone, but the games will be televised as well. If you’re a draft junkie, there are many guys to watch, and there will be two Oilers prospects: G - Stuart Skinner for Swift and C - Cameron Hebig for the Pats.

Others to note for this years draft:
Acadie-Bathurst Titan:
D - Noah Dobson
D - Michal Ivan
RW - Justin Ducharme

Hamilton Bulldogs:
RW - Isaac Nurse
C - Brandon Saigeon
G - Nick Donofrio(unlikely to play)

Swift Current Broncos:
D - Artyom Minulin
G - Joel Hofer(unlikely to play)

Regina Pats:
LW - Jared Legien
RW - Emil Oksanen
G - Max Paddock(unlikely to play)

There are several other eligible players, but they are unlikely to be drafted. Some of these guys likely won’t be as well, but they will all be on the radar next week. Other than Dobson, none should be expected to go very high.

I've brought it up before, but Brandon Saigeon will be someone I'll be keeping any eye on at the Mem cup. Hoping he goes undrafted again (sorry!) and we still have the in roads to sign him afterwards.

Surprising result for me. Admittedly I did not follow the OHL as closely this year as I have in the past but I though SSM would sail through the OHL playoffs, Home town Rangers almost took them out as well.

I would be fine with spending a late round pick on Saigeon because I don't think he'll be a FA. With the rate he's filling the net I figure somebody is going to draft him.

I probably would as well, but the thought of a “free” asset makes me happier. I feel like the stigma of being undrafted twice won’t overcome his playoff and Memorial Cup exposure. Storyline I’m following atleast.

The Bulldogs had the better goalie and defense going in and were the more rested team. Still thought SSM would prevail but I wasn't overly shocked Bulldogs won. That Robert Thomas is just something else. And usually good defense will shutdown a good offense. We've seen it numerous times over the years in all the leagues.

Still, if SSM had finished off the two earlier series quicker they might have been healthier and more rested for Hamilton. Missing Verbeek also hurt. They were also let down by poor goaltending. The team also really seemed to be affected after Don Cherry called them out for being hotdogs. Not sure why but they were just never the same team after those comments.

Also regarding the draft....you Hayton haters are ridiculous. The kid is good. I don't know what you are watching
