when I get some time, going to craft up what I would do this summer with signings, cap hits, etc

I will say this- I cannot wait to never have to watch John Moore again

I'm down for Moore not being here. Butcher proved he can handle a good workload. Address the D is the biggest piece left.

Obviously it sucks and would've loved to see the kids have more of a run, but I'm not too mad. TB is the perfect team to play when you're trying to develop your squad. They are one of the most professional, talented teams in the league, top to bottom. Something to be emulated.

More than the personnel and experience mismatch, there was a major coaching mismatch in the series. From a strategic standpoint, I don't think any variation of what we did this series is going to result in a cup winner, regardless of who's on our roster. We have some high IQ players on this team and I'm not certain the system rewards that.

Also, we need defense.

disappointing but expected

I dunno how much to look forward to next year, cause the garbage players seem to be Hynes favourites :/

So that Grabner trade was a complete bust. I liked it when we made it, but holy **** was he terrible. Probably the worst player on the team since getting here.

Yeah it didn't work but at the time, despite what a few posters will try to have you believe, it made sense. Unfortunately he didn't seem invested in it. I do think they should've tried him at RW despite him saying he liked LW better.

He's probably hacked a couple million off of his potential contract this season as well.

A great season, surpassing all expectations, and every reason we'll see improvement. We definitely need players to develop into better players, or to acquire better players, if we're going to be a more dangerous playoff challenger, but the pieces we have in place, the management we have in place: the future is bright.

We are not getting Karlsson. Just stop with these types of things. Not realistic at all.

I disagree.

By professional, I'm not talking about the goonery. I'm talking about playing the game.

Hynes talks about fast, attacking and supportive. The Bolts actually are all those things. Way better structure and support in every zone. We could not get through the middle of the ice because they are a disciplined team that does not chase. We chase (even our goalies...).

TOP 10 TIPS FOR IMPROVING THE DEVILS

1) Trade Boyle for a 5th Round draft pick (someone will take him for 1 year)
2) Dont resign Hayes
3) Trade Severson in a package for an NHL defenseman
4) Dont resign Stafford
5) Resign Gibbons
6) ONLY resign Moore if he can be #5/#6/#7 AND there's no other option, AND even if then, only give him a 1 year deal or let him walk

8) Sign one "big" Free Agent
9) Underpants
10) Fleece Pete Chiarelli again
